Morneau has done very little thus far yet Twins fans CONTINUE to talk about him like a HOFer. The same goes for Mauer. AJ is established, if Mauer put up numbers ven close to his we can talk.

You can try to match up the starting pitchers anyway you want, but no one but Santana would be good enough to be part of the Sox staff. Silva would be coming out of the pen, yet the Twins are going to depend on him. I honestly can't be alone in my thinking here. There is no way the Twins can be picked over the Sox. Especially if were just doing it by looking at the teams on paper.
I am not a fan of either team but I could not agree with you more on the above points! The Sox are without a doubt the better team. There are way too many ifs and buts to agree that the Twins are the better team.

If you pick the Twins to win the central, you don't know baseball. Simple as that.

Why not the Twins?? We have solid pitching staff..

Holy crap! I was going to play Devil's Advocate on you to criticize the number of wins vs losses (2430 games in a regular 30-team 162-game season), but it looks like you already did the math yourself. Nice job!

A little late snepp? By the way glad to see the Twins really improving in the off season.

Yeah, a bit late, as usual. (couldn't help taking a potshot at you guys )

Do I sense a bit of sarcasm concerning the Twins' improvement? I mean, seriously now, who doubts that Tony Batista is the savior the Twins have been looking for?

I think it's funny everyone is picking the Rangers to be 3rd (or even 4th) in their division. Someone had them at 70-92...did you look at their record last year? They were 79-83. They are definitely a better team this year...there's no way they'll lose 9 more games than they did last year (unless they have serious injuries).

I'm originally from Chicago and a lifelong Cubs fan but since moving to Texas I have realized what a great club the Rangers are. Some interesting facts from last year:

                              - 3rd most in runs (behind BOS & NYY)
                              - 1st in HRs (by more than 30!)
                              - 1st in TB
                              - 1st in SLG
                              - 3rd in H (behind BOS & NYY)
                              - 3rd in RBI (behind BOS & NYY)

Now some of their other stats aren't great...SO, BB, AVG...but they weren't at the bottom for any of those. This year they lose Soriano, replace him with Kinsler who should be a solid second baseman, solidify their pitching and everyone counts them out? As you can see from my signature I think they'll win their division this year.

You do know these are predictions right? Predictions were meant to be wrong.

Why do people get so sensitive about them? I see people listing the Padres at third or fourth and saying the won't have a winning record when they've improved themselves this year, but I'm not lashing back at them.

There have been teams that have leapt close to being good, only to regress the following season. Just because they make a jump does not mean they'll automatically be decent the following season, as witnessed with teams such as the Detroit Tigers and Kansas City Royals, the Seattle Mariners, the San Diego Padres, etc.
