The thing is, this guy had the potential to be a 300 game winner and be imortalized as one of the great pitchers of all time. His stuff was pure electricity when he was on top of his game. He never fully realized his potential and for that reason his story is one of the major tragedies in sports.

You ain't lying, man... He had that pure gas that he threw, combined with that "Lord Charles" curveball that buckled people's knees.... The "K" korner at Shea Stadium when he would pitch.... It was a wonderful time... I think that was what forced me to grow up, in a sense... At that time, I was like 12 years old, and Doc and Darryl were my heroes.... Then they had their run-ins with drugs, and it forced me to see that these dudes had problems too...

It still pains me to think of "what might have been" with those two.... Sadly, Doc never approached what he accomplished that magical season of 1985... And he was only what, 22 or 23 at the time?

I saw the video of his court appearance. Man did he look skinny. You could tell by looking at him that he was a druggie. Sad

Even if the arrest him, that doesn't mean he'll get off the drugs. They can get them in prison just as easy too. Sadly.
