Maybe if Willy Mo is platooning for a team that contends for titles...he won't be complaining as muhc? At least, we can hope.

The trade certainly works out for both teams, but I still feel the Sox got the edge in the trade. Not because they got the better player, but they did exactly what they wanted too. The Reds did too, but as Cam said...Arroyo would've been a long relief/middle relief pitcher...and to be able to get a guy like Willy Mo for a relief pitcher(on the Sox) is a deal you have to take.

I'm not too familar with Arroyo's game, but as a Reds fan I would just like for once a starting pitcher to get on our squad and perform at an above average level, instead of being a gas can.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Of course Arroyo is a back of the rotation starter and the upside to Pena is drastically larger than the upside to Arroyo - in Arroyo's case, his upside has probably already been reached.
I'm not going by one at bat but I saw this kid hit a BOMB last year. I'm not a reds fan so I don't even remember who it was against but I remember that he has RIDICULOUS power. That and the fact that he's just a baby at 24 years old is great. Did anybody know David Ortiz existed when he was 24??

I've seen him play numerous times in the NL Central and have seen the guy hit some tremendous shots. No doubt he's got absurd power (probably rated a 70 on scouting scales (20-80) - I've never seen someone rated an 80 for what it's worth). It's just that his strikezone judgement is poor and he struggles with offspeed pitches. There's no denying his power, but there is also no denying his past which shows he K's 1/3 of his AB's and walks infrequently.

It's like I stated before, Pena's upside is certainly very high. However, whether he reaches it or not is another thing. Time will tell.

Personally I thought the trade was good for both sides. Both teams got what they needed.
