Re: Building a Team
For the player: Albert Pujols - Best hitter in the game. Defense is average BUT adequet.
For the manager: Ozzie Gullien - Could have picked another manager, probably even a better manager BUT Ozzie is young in terms of being a manager. He's the youngest manager since Tom Kelly in 87 to win a World Series.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

Re: Building a Team
Pujols is the obvious choice, but you have to give some consideration to David Wright and Miguel Cabrera as well.
For pitchers, obviously King Felix Hernandez and Johan Santana. Some of the lesser known filthy arms would include Justin Verlander, Francisco Liriano (when he's not DUI'ing), Joel Zumaya, Chad Billingsley, and Jon Lester.Comment

Miguel Cabrera
Manager: Call me crazy, but I like Ozzie.Comment

Re: Building a Team
Pitcher: Jake Peavy, without a doubt. 24 yrs old, and filthy.
Hitter: Albert Pujols, simply the best hitter in the game now.
Manager: Bobby Cox.. Playoff team every year but one since 1991.Comment

Good names pitching, but how could you talk about filthy young pitchers and not even name Jake Peavy? He's 24 and as filthy as anyone in baseball.Comment
