A-Rod
I might be alone on this... but watching him everyday... I think in a little over 2 seasons, he has become a better 3B than he was a SS. He is just so good to his right down the line and making the long throw among other things.

Re: A-Rod
As much as it sucks, considering the Sox could have had him (not that I really care aside from a talent standpoint, we won a WS and that's all I wanted), he has become a better third baseman than he was shortstop. That's the one reason whenever I get in arguments with friends over who the best player in the league is (usually between Pujols and A-Rod), I stick with A-Rod. Because along side of being just as good of a hitter as Pujols and a bigger threat on the basepaths, he is one of the best defensive players in the league as well. So yeah, even being a Sox fan, I can admit how damn good he is, and that he is in fact a better 3B than he was at SS now.
EDIT: Of course, about two seconds after I posted this, I saw Pujols jacked three homeruns in today's game. Heh, talk about irony.Last edited by Kearnzo; 04-16-2006, 04:54 PM.Comment

Re: A-Rod
A-Rod is a good enough athlete that he'd be good at almost every position.
I think he was a better shortstop though. He has great range and a great arm, both are needed more at short. And I think he still has some issues with his footwork at 3rd.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: A-Rod
He's a good third baseman in the field, but he isn't even the best in his league so to say he is better there than he was at shortstop is a bit extreme. According to the guys at BP, he had a negative fielder rating last year, so take that for what its worth.Comment

He had an astounding 18 rating in 2004, and even while hobbled last year he still had a rating of 6. If healthy, he is definitly one of the best. I give Chavez the nod now, and I think he'll be an MVP candidate this year as well.Comment
