Who else saw this article? Marriotti emailed him questions guaging his interest in buying the Cubs. He said he was definitely interested. The article mentioned that the cost could be 600-800 mil. I hope he buys them...or anyone for that matter. As a Cubs fan, I feel like one of those condemned guys in Greek mythology.

I like Cuban alot. It seems like he's got a little bit of an ego/me factor, and the idea of being "the guy" that helps the Cubs win a world title seems like it would really appeal to Cubes.

He's been rumored to want the Pirates for a few years now. He supposedly asked to buy them, but the current ownership group said they weren't for sale (which makes sense since they're bound to get additional revenue from the All Star Game this year).
Cuban was born and raised in Pittsburgh so the whole "coming home to save the hometown team" probably looks good to him.
I have heard rumors that all this talk about him owning a baseball team is just PR fluff for him. According to one interview, he said his wife doesn't want him owning another team. Time will tell...Comment

That would be awesome for the Pirates. Pittsburgh has such a nice venue for baseball, they need to put better teams on the field. It's been a while since they've been good, and I bet Cuban could help turn em around pretty quick. It's a double edged sword with the Pirates. They do need an owner that can put more revenue into the team and doesn't pocket a lot of what's made, but they also need to start developing better talent and keeping players who they want to build around (ie: Jason Bay....Zack Duke).Originally posted by ESPNdeportes
