Thats what it is and its why fan voting sucks, I vote for the guys from the Cardinals who deserve it (if its close sure I'll give them the benefit of the doubt over the other guy) but I don't vote for them if there is clearly a better player.

So then why did Scott Podsednik win in a landslide over Derek Jeter last year in the final spot vote?

Because, fortunately, more people dislike the Yankees than are fans.

Well with all these injuries to yankees players continue they might be able to sub in some other roster spots.

Latest NL release. Cabrera has moved into the top 5. He would be somewhere in the 213,000s if not for me. Jason Bay has also moved up, Utley takes 2B starting spot, and Edmonds is out of the top three thankfully.

Keep voting to get the deserving players up there though!!!!

I wish they'd release both leagues at one time. I'm hoping Miggy has gained on Jeter and Ramon is actually in the top 5.

Joe Mauer, who has a good chance to not get a spot, is hitting .379 now.

Jason Varitek, the likely starter, is at a robust .236.

And Ramon Hernandez is still not even in the top 5 catchers. Getting better, but still a joke.

Alot of good options in the AL at catcher, it's just having Varitek lead the voting that pisses me off.

'Tek doesn't even belong in the top 5 with his numbers. It should be:

                        1. Mauer
                        2. Ramon
                        t3. Victor Martinez
                        t3. Posada
                        5. Pudge

Reported on the Pirates radio broadcast that Jason Bay is now #3 in NL outfield voting (only a few behind Soriano at #2). There's been a lot of push for him around the city these past few weeks. Good to see....he deserves it.

Jose Castillo is also making his way up the 2B list. Might not make it though despite putting up some very good numbers.

Freddie Sanchez has the most write-in votes and is #6 overall at 3B. He's #2 in the NL in BA. Good guy and a very good spray hitter.

                            My ballot:

                            American League
                            1B - David Ortiz
                            2B - Luis Castillo (Didn't see anyone I liked)
                            SS - Miguel Tejada
                            3B - Aubrey Huff (I refuse to vote A-Rod)
                            C - Joe Mauer
OF - Torii Hunter (Got to give support to the Twins)
OF - Reggie Sanders (Joined the 300/300 club, and KC needs some love)
                            OF - Manny Ramirez

                            National League
                            1B - Nomar Garciaparra
                            2B - Ricky Weeks
SS - Jack Wilson (no one else stood out, plus the Twins just faced PIT)
                            3B - Miguel Cabera
C - Michael Barrett (No comment)
                            OF - Matt Holliday (UNDERRATED!)
                            OF - Andruw Jones
                            OF - Jason Bay

Also who determines who makes the Homerun Derby? I would love to see Justin Morneau the 1B for the Twins in it. He has amazing power and would hit some deep blasts into the river!

P/S - Vote Joe Mauer in!
                            Colorado Avalanche (NHL)
                            Denver Nuggets (NBA)
                            Green Bay Packers (NFL)
                            Iowa Hawkeyes (NCAA)
                            Minnesota Twins (MLB)
                            Tennessee Volunteers (NCAA)

Looks like the Mets will make up at least half of the NL team.

Damn these big markets. At least Bay moved into a starting spot.

You do know that Huff is hitting below .200 right? I agree with Holliday though, absolutely underrated and is performing at an all star level. I really dont agree with Wilson, Barrett, Weeks (Utley? come on now...), Nomar, Sanders, Hunter, or Castillo (Brian Roberts?).

Also, the NL ballot update came out today. Jose Reyes is now the leading SS, and the new outfield is Beltran, Bay, Soriano. Now it's starting to get normal.
