I don't recall a title those years so who cares. He always had nagging inuries, because he is lazy and didn't condition himself, which limited his play. He could have been even better those years. I can see right though a guy like this. He had talent around him during those years, so by showing his true colors when they needed him the most, I know he isn't worth what they or others will give him. He doesn't care about winning, he cares about his stats and how much bank he will get. He was like that in Pittsburgh, and nothing has changed that I can see.

If we get a real manager who can do his thing, then I would think he could be valuable. Otherwise with no accountability he will be useless. Imangine how much better he would be if someone lit a fire under his ***. That doesn't mean you need a screamer as a manager, but accountability is the key. There isn't any now under this joke of a manager, and under this disgrace of an organization. Clearly the worst in professional sports, now that the Clippers made the playoffs last year.

I don't think anything will ever beat that.
Off the same pitcher too!! I think it was Chan Ho Park.

I bet he will still be hitting .254 next year for the 2nd to last place Cubs.

He is a career .280 hitter and hasn't hit as low as .254 in a full season since 2002.

Sorry, I've always thought, everytime I've watch and been to a Cubs game, seen him go 0-4. I guess I was thinking what everyone else was thinkin on this thread.. clutch hits..

His numbers look great considering how ****ty he was early on when they needed him. I guess Juan Pierre is in the same boat. I just like the guy who will produce when you need him too. Baseball is tough to gauge in this regard. Get a real manager, and we'll see what happens.

Star players sometime slump at the beginning of a season - it happens. Just like how Joe Crede is giving himself a bad name this past month. Fundamentally, most players slump at some point in the season, so I wouldn't discredit Ramirez. He's one of the best offensive 3rd basemen, and he's become a good defender. You never hear him complain about anything, even when he's batting behind Neifi Perez or other sub .300 obp guys.

The Cubs waited long enough (Santo to Ramirez) for a quality 3rd baseman, and there's no reason to let him go now. Especially since our owner could, in theory, afford a $200 million budget.

Joe Crede is playing bad right now because he injured his back.

And Aramis was having leg / groin issues for most of the season.
