All good things must come to an end

It's been a great 1.5 years for my White Sox BUT sad to say their reign of World Champions will officially come to an end October 1st. I know this will make a lot of you guys happy BUT when your team is on top your going to be hated. That's the norm. BUT also remember, teams that are on top will be removed from the top if they don't adjust. That's what has happend to the Diamondbacks(2001), Angels(2002), Marlins(2003), and Red Sox(2004). I now the White Sox fall in line with these failed repeat attempts.

Although they are still mathematically alive and by some 'Act of God' that they make the playoffs how far are they going to go? I don't see them beating any of the playoff teams in a 3 or 7 game series. Not the way our pitching has been playing.

It's dissappointing that a team that wins the World Series the previous year and come back and improve their personel the next year AND not even make the playoffs is unheard of. AND YES I'M GOIN TO STEP OUT AND SAY IT, some of it is Ozzie's fault. The other I blame on pitching. The pitching would be a hard thing to adjust because so much goes into pitching BUT what Ozzie has done this year has been unforgivable. If he didn't win the World Series last year his azz would be on the line this year. BUT since he won the championship he gets a one year repreive. HOW MANY TIMES ARE YOU GOING TO PLAY ROB MACKOWIAK IN CENTER FIELD!!!!!! He's not a center fielder! Rob even admitted that he feels uncomfortable in center field. What would have been the simplest solution on days when you want to rest Brian Anderson? PLAY Podsednik in CF. Before he came to the White Sox Rob had a total of 86 career starts in CF out of the 410 he started a ball game. Pods came up in the Brewers organization as a CF and had 281 starts as a CF. Do the math Ozzie! Why don't you want to put Podsednik in CF?

Sorry for the long rant. I'm almost done.

I'm a die hard White Sox fan and it frustrates me to no end that this team is one of the most dissappointing White Sox team I've seen play. They have displayed not a bit of urgency all season. They felt that they could turn it on whenever they felt like it. Doesn't work that way. When you win the championship, everybody is gunning for you. That means every team you play that next year will have that extra incentive to beat you. Which means that you have to step your game up a notch. Unfortunately, they didn't do that. They figured that everyone was going to kneel and bow to the kings. But failed to realize that there is a revolt that goes on in the kingdom every year and you must protect your castle from intruders.

Well, that's it for me...but hey, HOW ABOUT DA BEARS!

The White Sox did have a good run. I was getting excited at the thought that the last series of the year could be a huge one. I still think that the White Sox are in it. This week will determine it though IMO. If the Twins struggle against Boston and the White Sox comeback and beat the Tigers you guys will be breathing down our necks again which makes me uncomfortable. Here's to hoping the last series will be for all of the marbles

I'm in the same state of mind, though I can't call this the most disappointing season only because I'm still on a bit of a high from watching them actually win it last year. The year after the strike is still the saddest display I've ever seen. They should've rolled through that season and they never even competed with the Indians.

The good news for now is that they still have a good core and Kenny Williams has proven himself an aggressive GM. I can't quite figure out how 4 of their starters forgot how to pitch the second half of the season, but I have to think they'll come back strong next year. Or, better yet, we'll be eating these words in two weeks.

Meh, crying over the White Sox giving it a run and almost making the playoffs this year? The fans that are probably more disappointed and mournful are Braves fans.

The Sox did something that quite a few teams in MLB have never done in their history yet. So relax and enjoy it. It's not like they sank to the bottom and were in last place.

The White Sox are still in it.

But I think the Tigers have the division and the Twins the WC.

The 2005 White Sox follow the footsteps of the 2003 Angels and 2004 Marlins and once again prove that post-season experience is overrated.

You're complaining about the end of a "run" that didn't even last two full seasons? You gotta be kidding me.

I guess you consider the Twins winning 3(maybe 4 after this year) divison titles a "run"? But consider this, 3 division titles in 4 years and NO World Series. Sox win 1 division and one WS. I don't care what anyone else says, I'd take 1 WS over a handfull of division titles anytime.

I would too, but that's still not a "run" to me. To me the Yankees, Red Sox, and Braves had real "runs" going on. Maybe even the A's and Twins for their recent dominance.

Pretend the Tigers win the WS this, surely at the end of next year's season a Tigers fan doesn't get on here and talk about their "run" being over

Well, when you ain't seen a World Championship in Chicago in 88 years then it's considered a "run".

And when did the Red Sox have a run? They ended their WS drought just like we did. They didn't even win their division in their championship year so they haven't won their division in 10 years. I must have missed that one.

I was wondering that too. I guess making the postseason for 3 straight years? The only legitimate "runs" are the Yankees and Braves.

Umm, just for the record, the only person who mentioned the White Sox "run" was a Twins fan who I believe was trying to offer some measure of support.

I thought the Red Sox made it more than 3 years in a row. My bad. I thought they had 5 or 6 recent Wild Cards
