Re: All good things must come to an end

Wow, thats some faith you have there on your team. I bet you were the same guy last year that as soon as the Sox got to the playoffs said, "one and done".

I do admit that our pitching staff is horrible, but I have more faith in them than I do with the Tigers pitching staff. A staff that has never been in such a race in their lives EVER. The true question will be, can the Tigers pitching staff man up and win the division?

I honestly feel that Minnesota will take the Division away from the Tigers. And I feel that the White Sox will still win the wild card.

And if that doesnt happen.. We still have 3 games left against the Twins. We definately need to man up and hope the Twins can come off their DAMN HIGH HORSE AND LOSE ALREADY!! The Twins lose twice, we sweep em, and it'll be a tight race.

But as much as I hate to admit it, if the Sox dont make it past Oct. 1, then I hope the Twins can win it all. (Or Phillies if they make it, but I highly doubt they can make the playoffs and/or win the ship) I feel the Twins, especially Torri Hunter deserve it.

    *edit*

OK, maybe what I'm smoking shouldnt be what I'm smoking anymore. My faith in them is going down 10% every runner left on base tonight.

Actually, halfway through September he didn't think the ChiSox were even going to make the playoffs -- here.

This is not about loosing faith in your team. It's called coming to terms with reality. Any knowledgeble baseball fan who's been watching baseball this season knows that the White Sox are out of the playoffs. Maybe not officially but it's just a matter of time.

And speaking of team support, I get the same reponse from guys at work about team support when I tell them the White Sox season is done. I'm not going to sit here and give you a rosey picture on how the Sox are going to win 11 straight games and make the playoffs because it's not going to happen. Not the way they've been playing this year. That's what Cub fans do. And speaking of Cub fans that's the same people at work who's telling me that I'm lacking team support because of the statement I said. They are the same guys who says that the season was not a total disappointment because we're 18 games over .500. THAT'S B.S! True White Sox fans shouldn't settle for anything less than the championship. The excuses are for the Northsiders. We're not going to the playoffs because we've been a huge disappointment. Maybe more disappointing than the Cubs. Beginging of the season the Cubs were not expected to do much BUT the White Sox were at least predicted to go to the playoffs. And not only we're not making the playoffs BUT we're going to finish 3rd!

Ozzie yesterday stated that if there's anyone to blame then blame him. YES OZZIE, we're going to blame you! But the blame falls on the whole organization. From Kenney Williams not getting a back-up CF. To the pitching staff for their horrdenous performance. To the hitters for gounding into a billion double plays in late inning. Everyone is to blame. Even some of these so-called White Sox fans who are going to disappear after this season after hooping and hollering last year. You know who you are!

MAN! I can't wait until NBA 2K7 drops on Tuesday. Take my mind off this disappointing season.

2006 Sox = 2004 Cubs. Both disappointing choke jobs. Its cut and dry even though some Sox wants probably can't or won't admit it. It does show how hard it is to be a consistant winner, and that is why I have alot of respect for the Braves and Yankees of the world. I will say that at least kenny Williams tried. He didn't rest on the title, he tried to get better. His pitching, and some of his hitters just let him down.

How anyone can have any compassion for a fanbase as bad as the White Sox is beyond me. I'm glad they aren't going to make it... Maybe their bandwagon fans will go back to the hole they came from until they make another run in 88 years.

I don't think so. We won the World Series the previous year. The Cubs didn't. And I wouldn't consider this season a choke job. The Tigers have been in first place for majority of the season and had a 10 game lead in the division at one point. The White Sox have been trailing most of the season.

However, now that I think about it as I'm typing we did choke. We had a 10 game lead on the wild card and let that go by the wayside. So your right, we did choke. BUT we're not the 2004 Cubs.

Hey Superstar. Where the hell you been? Haven't seen your post on this forum since early in the season. During the time Cleveland was actually in the race.

It's not comparable to the 2004 Cubs, in my opinion. In terms of choking, your rotation simply failed to show up. Garland, Vazquez, and Garcia simply did not do their job, and I don't know what to say about Buehrle. Contreras was overhyped from the beginning, and McCarthy should've been in the rotation from the beginning.

I'm wondering how much Ozzie's tantrums this year affected the team morale. That's something we'll probably never know, but it's interesting to consider. This was easily the best 25 man roster across the league - nobody, not even the Yanks at full health were comparable, in terms of chemistry.

I didn't bring up 05. It has nothing to do with my comparison. The Cards were in first place the whole 04 season as well, and had more than a 10 game lead as well. So the comparison is valid. They **** the bed against teams they should have beat, and that is why they wont make the wildcard. Much like the 04 Cubs.

Just to add another point. The Yankees are 26 time champions. Does that mean that they didn't choke against Boston in 2004? A choke is a choke, no matter how you slice it.

Well, they say you can't have bandwagon fans unless you win a championship. But I guess as an Indians (58 years) and Bills (none since the merger) fan you wouldn't understand.
