I'd probably be the only one who wouldn't want him on my team however. We got 30 million to spend in the offseason with Klesko, Park, Williams, and a couple of others going to free agency.

I wouldn't take the contract of A-Rod (even if it's only 15 million) and give away talent. Would rather sign a bat in the offseason than do that.

Of course he isn't worth the money...nobody is. But its not a matter of worth is a matter of driving the prices of salaries up. Owners are willing to pay 25 million so why not? Its simple economics man.

Anyone can knock in runs in this lineup?

He did lead the Yankees in RBIs and was 4th in the AL in RBIs, with 125.

Oh ya, and last year, he lead the team too.

I'd take A-Rod on the Indians.

Hell, I'd even take A-Rod on any rec softball team.

What other third baseman in the A.L is better? (I seriously ask that, I'm not a stat guy so I don't know anything other than Pronk is a stat beast.)

No one. And no one even comes close.

Troy Glaus? Joe Crede? Melvin Mora? Brandon Inge?

Its not even close. He is the best 3B in the AL by far.

It's pretty amazing the enigma that A-Rod has become.

Some of the numbers he has put up this year would be other players' wet dream. A season they would drool over to have in a contract year so they could set the rest of their life up on a golf tee.

He had a slightly off year in his BA, but the rest doesn't seem to have fallen off at all. DJ should have bit the bullet, learned CF, and given A-Rod the SS position. That's what a true leader would do. I'm not saying that the position change is the reason for the perceived troubles Alex has experienced since joining the Yankees though.

Probably the worst thing Alex has done to himself is not on the baseball field, but in front of the microphone and camera. He seems like an ego-maniac. He seems to visualize himself as a God. When a reporter brings up his troubles on the field, he'll brush them off like they aren't really happening. He appears to hate to admit he is human.

He is flatout not a likeable guy from a multi-tude of quotes and some actions on the field (slapping Arroyo in 04).

I'll take him at what the Yanks are paying him which is like 12 mil.

He wanted to take less money to play for the Red Sox. I don't get why you guys hate him so much.

                              That's not the point.

It's not that he's taking less money, he's deferring it (I believe that is the case). It's basically being paid the same amount at a different point in time.

                              Quotes like
I don't know why people say the things they do about me. I don't know if it's because I'm bi-racial, good looking, make the most money, or whatever it maybe.
I'm paraphrasing but that's basically what he said.

That's not the way to endear yourself to the fans. And last time I checked, Jeter was bi-racial, made a sh*t load of money, and was nailing every hot chick that walked by him.

This isn't a Red Sox fan perspective, this seems to be a general fans perspective.

Yeah, he has played like **** in the playoffs. I wonder when is he going to play like A-Rod can...he always wanted to show off in the playoffs..where's that mentality?
