Tim Kuirtjian (however you spell his name lol) is reporting on Mike and Mike this morning that Sweet Lou is gonna manage the Cubs. Kinda suprises me. I really thought GIrardi was a lock for the job.

He said that he had heard that but also that it was speculation...but youre right, he suggested that Pinella wanted it really bad and would probably get it. It also doesnt surprise me that Girardi isnt a lock. Hendry has to be a contrarian just so he can affirm to himself that he is the one making the decision. He did this in "his decision" (assuming it was truly his) to not fire Dusty when the vast majority wanted it to happen. -

Anything to get him off the air. He's been a successful manager before, so I'm sure he's not a complete idiot, but he really sounds like he has a mental disability during the broadcasts.
If nothing else, he should be good for some more memorable quotes, though Dusty will be hard to compete with in that category.Comment

I don't like seeing Lou with the Cubbies, but I guess this means it is more likely that Seattle lands another top manager, as we weren't going to get Pinella.Comment

Sweet Lou was interviewed in the Sun Times yesterday. Was glad he was interested. I would take either him or Girardi. I thought the sticking point with Lou was that he only wanted to manage 2 years, that isn't enough.Comment

Im just euphoric that the Cubs will be getting an actual manager and the fact that it might be someone like Pinella or Girardi is a bonus. Even if the Cubs dont win, I know Ill feel better about the team with an actual manager but especially with Girardi or Pinella.Comment
