I believe this rumor has been retracted by mlbtraderumors. I'd be suspicious of the stuff going up on that site while the main writer is away.

Late to the discussion, I know, but I couldnt see the Pads trading Peavy to any team after the year he had last year. Why sell low?Comment

Re: Jake Peavy to Braves...???
If you read the front page of that site it says some false radio reports have made their way on to the site. So i would take this with more than a grain of salt.
The Padres are not going to trade Jake Peavy and if they did they would be asking for more than Marcus Giles and Horacio Ramirez.
The Braves are going to sign a starter and it may be a familiar one in Tom Glavine. There is a reason Tom opted out of his contract with the Mets and where better to get his 300th win and end his career than in Atlanta wearing a Braves uniform.Comment

Re: Jake Peavy to Braves...???
This trade isn't happening. Yes there has been speculation that Jake Peavy may be traded, but the Padres will only do if it nets them a star/big offensive bat player, which none of those three in the trade rumors are.
The Padres aren't that desperate for a second basemen.Comment

Re: Jake Peavy to Braves...???
Peavy would be happier in Atlanta, he's already said he hates being so from his home in Mobile he grew up playing his high school ball and his AA in Mobile so I think it could happen“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

Re: Jake Peavy to Braves...???
It won't happen. You trade value for value and the trade is in Atlanta's favor regardless of how many players we're getting. Quality over Quantity.Comment
