Hmm, I guess that's why KT didn't sign him. I know he wants Meche, but the Padres are building through the draft, no need to lose picks that they just gained.

That's my point. Why overpay for Meche when you know the team is still going to finish at the bottom of the division.

          Time to eat crow?

Gil Meche has been amazing. If he was pitching for Boston or New York, he would be baseball's version of Tony Romo.

          Who would of thought?

If he was pitching for Boston or New York how do we know the results would be the same.
The pressure to go out and perform in Kansas City is nothing compared to having to justify his big contract on a big stage like pitching in Fenway or Yankee Stadium.

If he was putting up those same kind of numbers at Fenway or Yankee Stadium.

Plus, he would also have a lot more wins if he was playing for those teams.

I don't know, I've seen Meche go stretches before where he pitched very well and looked like he was on the verge of becoming a top notch starting pitcher before reverting to form. If I was a Royals fan I wouldn't pop the champagne corks just yet.

Still, the guy definitely has a live arm and I hated seeing him go, unlike the Pinata who I don't miss at all except on days when Jeff Weaver is on the mound.
