Steve Avery comeback
Steve Avery signed a minor league deal with the Tigers and got an invite to spring training. Man this guy used to be really good. Sad what happened to him, it wasn't even his fault. Maybe the Braves overworked him in his early years.Tags: None -

I hope Steve can have a great comeback. I always loved those snap pick off throws. ]

Yeah those were good. Almost as good as Mulholland's.
Has anyone else heard of any "Blast from the past" players get non roster invitee invitations to spring training? I know last year Pete Incavilia got one, but any this year?Comment

Yeah, Avery is a local kid (Taylor, MI) and has been throwing at Comerica Park and chattin' up the Tigers young pitchers for 2 years now. Avery at 32 is twice as good as anyone on the Tigers staff. Plus, they traded their only serviceable Lefty in Mark Redman!Listen to The Remodeling Clay Podcast!

Re: Steve Avery comeback
He used to pitch for the Braves.
I think it was the 91 NLCS where he shut out the pirates 2 games in that series. Think both games were 1-0 finals too.My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Seriously?
He was part of, arguably, the greatest 4 man rotation in Baseball history. Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, and Avery all in their prime at the same time!! Today you're lucky to have 2 above average pitchers on your staff...the Braves had one every night!Listen to The Remodeling Clay Podcast!
