    Johnson to D-backs, trade done

Per WFAN. Johnson to the DBacks for RP Luis Vizcaino and 3 minor leaguers.

Any word as to who the minor leaguers are? I doubt Arizona was willing to part with anybody too promising to get Johnson back.

Cool. Now if those three prospects are key prospects in the D-Backs farm system I'll be very happy.

I think Johnson will be a LOT better in Arizona. Book it.

Bad trade for Zona. I mean, they did this in an attempt to get fans back in the seats. The problem is that The Unit is past his prime and getting ready to be out of this league quickly.

An old washed up pitcher that fans saw in their prime isn't going to bring people back. They are used to seeing him dominate, seeing him struggle isn't going to get anyone in Zona excited.

Plus, if they have to pay all of his salary then it just gets even worse.

He had stretches last year where he played like the Old Unit.

Going to an NL team, where he wants to be, less pressure, etc. etc.

              He will be better.

He may have a slightly better ERA, but his win total will be less.

Again, W-L record very overrated for evaluating pitchers.

                  2007 Statline: 15-10, 4.00 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 220 innings, 200 strikeouts, .235 OPPBA.

                      The Yankees Get:
                      Luis Vizcaino
                      Alberto Gonzalez
                      Steven Jackson
                      Ross Ohlendorf

Yankees still also have to pay around $1.5 to $2 million of his $16 million contract.

Definitely is. Remember that dominating year Johnson put up a couple years back for the DBacks. His W-L was bad but his numbers were real good. I believe it was also the year he no hit ATL, or was it a perfect game. One of them.
