Re: Breaking News: Bonds failed drug test
I just laughed when I read this. Bonds is an absolute clown at this point. It appears that he is a junkie and can't stop this drug fixation, because he's getting caught doing drugs even with the entire western hemisphere fixated on what is entering his body.
The other thing we should be concerned about here is more leaks from Bud Selig and his henchmen. Or somebody from the medical labs. These continued leaks really hurt the drug testing process in the long run because the players are not going to be trustworthy of agreeing to so called "private" or "secret" testing during the next CBA. These leaks with names attached are duplicitous at worst and petty and juvenile at best.
For those that argue the silly Fainaru-Wada and whatever the other guy's name is defense, "It's for the good of society that the information is leaked!", these personal medical information leaks may be violating federal law (HIPAA). I would hope that whatever choad-scrumbler leaked this information to the NY Daily News is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
The other thing is: I was flicking through the TV this morning, and I was shocked, utterly shocked I tell you (sarcasm there), to see the writer of this NY Daily News story sitting on ESPN discussing the matter.
I think it is a real problem when low-life, surly sportswriter bozos have financial incentive to release stories that violate the medical privacy of individuals, no matter how loathsome said individual may be. When the sportswriters are lavished with attention and money (who wouldn't want to feel important when your job usually consists of quoting a meathead saying "we made a lot of plays out there today") in exchange for publicizing private medical information, I think that is a problem. Hopefully this d-bag NY Daily News writer is compelled to reveal the leak source.
To me, this whole thing is just an ugly, ugly mess that does not want to go away. Nobody comes across here as looking good..Comment

I was thinking the same thing. If you got caught doing something you shouldn't take your punishment like a man and don't try to blame someone else for your own stupidity.Comment

Re: Breaking News: Bonds failed drug test
Good. Now I can only hope he gets busted again so he's suspended and can't break Aaron's HR record.
No chance at the hall now Barry, any other excuses you can bring up?
"I had no idea I was applying steroid cream to my body"
"I took the pills from another player's locker, I had no idea what they were"
For someone that supposedly takes perfect care of himself, he sure takes a lot of drugs without asking what the hell they even are.
What a joke.Comment

Re: Breaking News: Bonds failed drug test
I'm pretty sure that Sweeney didn't think great things about Bonds before this incident either. Very few teammates of Bonds' do.
As for the Hall of Fame question, as much as it bothers me to say so, I think he deserves to be in the HOF because of the player he was before all this steroid stuff. As far as the media is concerned, they have never liked Bonds yet voted him NL MVP how many times?
Needless to say, it should be interesting. I echo some of the other posters who have said they hope he fails a drug test. I think Aaron's record should not be broken by anyone from this era, and whatever will keep Bonds from doing so, I'm all for.Comment

Re: Breaking News: Bonds failed drug test
Bonds has created a lot of enemies over the years so he is under attack and that's his fault. However, he should be a 1st time ballot Hall of Famer period! He had the numbers to be in in the Year 2000 so anyone that says he's not a Hall of Famer is just wrong. Like him or not he is a Hall of Famer! He was the player of the 90's, was a 500/500 man, has won many gold gloves. Hell as a Giants fan i'm sick of all his distractions but you can't tell me he doesn't belong in the Hall!Comment

Re: Breaking News: Bonds failed drug test
Why is everyone on a witch hunt against bonds, sosa, Mcgwire and etc. I mean this test was not supposed to be outed but once again someone leaked it.
My stance on steriods is this, who knows how many people were on them, did the above mentioned players take them probably but how many of the pitchers were also on them so they could come back every 4 days. Look at some of the relievers also who were "good" before testing and then look at relievers now alot more are struggling.
I am just saying that MLB and the owners all knew about this and turned the other cheek to it after the strike so these players could save the game, and guess what THEY DID. Who knows how many of the players all up through took drugs to give them an edge, they didn't test for anything before.Comment

Re: Breaking News: Bonds failed drug test
If Bonds is going to the HOF, then you sure as hell better put Pete Rose in before him. Pete broke the hitting record while he was clean and NOT gambling. He only knowingly gambled while being a mediocre manager. Gambling had NO effect on his great hitting, whereas there are numerous reports of Bonds getting some "help".Comment
