    So it's now:

    2007 - AT&T Park
    2008 - Yankee Stadium
    2009 - Busch Stadium

    At Large
    Chase Field
    Citizens Bank Park
    Great American Ballpark
    Petco Park

I prefer the other ballparks receiving ASG before we get one in Petco Park... still got some development that is finishing up here.

Mets new ballpark opens in 2009, they haven't hosted an All-Star game since I think 1966. More than likely the Yankee Stadium announcement precludes the Mets from having another All-Star Game in New York City for at least the foreseeable future, which sucks.

Definitely. While stadiums like AT&T Park have some permanent beauty, stadiums like Busch Stadium and Petco Park have just begun what will bring out even more beauty to the stadium.

Speaking of which, BP Village will be completed by 2009, correct?

I'm hoping it will but I haven't heard anything new about it for a while, hopefully with it being announced we get the 09 all star game that will accelerate the process some.

It's about time St. Louis gets an ASG. My dad was 19 the last time they had one in STL. I guess we needed to build a new stadium and win a World Series to get the game. Done.

If only they'd built a nice stadium for fans instead of a giant money grubbing corporate nightmare.

No, it was always in the cards (no punt intended). I think this was decided a few years back when the process of a building a new stadium (funding and all that nonsense) was early on.

The '09 ASG could be stripped form us too if we don't get the Ballpark Village done soon enough and they don't fix the press boxes since the media had been whining about our open-air press box.
