If healthy, Floyd can put up good numbers. I am personally gonna miss the guy roaming LF at Shea. Head-to-Head, Floyd is much more valuable than Jones.

Well for the most part Floyd requires a platoon because he's hurt so much doesn't he? Signing him to a one year deal isn't bad, especially if you have a kid in the minors you wanna give some time to but not as a fulltime player. Floyd fits perfectly since he'll be hurt so often. But if he does stay healthy the man can hit and plays solid D. Its not a bad signing for one year.

The problem with this signing is that Floyd and Murton play the same position and significantly cuts into Murton's playing time. Murton is the only guy on the team that has a respectable on-base percentage and you're going to sit him to put Floyd out there? Whatever.

The Cubs have the worst defensive outfield in baseball. When there are reports of Ryan Theriot playing center one day and Soriano playing there the next might present a problem. Especially, since the only guy on the roster that has ever even played center is the guy you're trying to trade (Jones).
