3DO doesn't care about their customers. The HH team does, but they can't do much about it with 3DO managing them. Personally, I love how in High Heat you tell the pitcher were to throw by pressing in a direction. It allows for much more random pitching. Plus, the batting is cool because there is no cursor. You can actually pull the ball if you wanted to. Unfortunately, HH seems like it might be dissapointing. There are actually only 14 pitches instead of 26. The graphics aren't that much better. The awesome PC spreadsheet statistics are gone. There will be no DangerZ editor. It seems like MVP, WSB, ASB, or IP will be the winner this year.

for me graphics are very important, i want to feel like iam at the park watching a game. hh graphics where horrible i payed 200 dollars for a ps2 to get good graphics not to continue getting graphics like a ps1. half the fun for me is just going to each stadium and playing a game to check out the graphics, to see how real it looks.

GCrusher23, DZ may still make an editor for this year's game. I don't think he has officially said no or yes to that question. I know 3DO was speaking with him about his editor being in HH2004 but I think the "deal" fell through. I certainly hope he makes one. I'll be happy to donate to the cause again.

Realism is the most important thing for me specially for baseball games.
That said, at this time I will no doubt expect some decent graphics for HH. If they don't deliver then I'll do the switch to WSB, wich I enjoyed last year.
HH is still my fav baseball game, but they need to start showing some graphic muscle.

I second that. ASB and WSB have the graphics, but the gameplay was'nt as real. But this year both of those game are getting closer to HH than ever. and HH had the gameplay, but the graphics chewed ***. Now if they dont show us some impressive graphics and word goes around that ASB and WSB have the game play. 3DO will be in ssome deep [censored]. you can only be loyal to a game until it stops impressing you, then you look elsewhere.

I like HH, but they way they make it realistic is basically give you no control over what's happening it's all statistical based and seems pre-determined. I know I time the hit perfectly and pick the right location of the pitch and somehow it's just a little dinker to the pitcher and sometimes you guess the wrong pitch location and it goes for a homerun. In WSB I feel like I have control and I'm actually effecting the outcome of the game when I play, that's what I like. The question is "Is HH producing realistic statistics because it's all predetermined results with no contro?l" I have been wondering that for some time now.

Hmmmmmm, you may be right. You can play a game with 6 hits total between both teams in a 1-0 lose. And you always get that feeling. That feeling like no matter what you did at the plate they only let you on base when they feel like.

Does'nt bother me though. I'd rather play a game where the rating affect the game then some damn cursor. The cursor hitting sounds to promising, like if you hit the sweet spot, you'll up your chances at getting a hot. So that means if you mastered hitting, and you got a lifetime hitter batting .230, you raise your chances of gettin him on base because you hit the sweet spot.

I'd rather let the rating do the playing for me. Thats what makes everyone say HH is realistic b/c you really dont have control of hitting to get on base. Thus making the games low scoring and realistic.

Wow........Very Interesting............I am one to go for realism (sp?).............I am 26 and find it very hard to play any sports game on consistant basis because of the non realism in Sport Video Games.........Madden in no way is real.........NBA2K3 is almost real but I have seen Allen Houston throw it down too many times on someone............He does not do this in real life....I know.......Im a Knick fan......In NHL2k3 you can do a cheap swim move ala NHL 94 95 96 and get a goal on the hardest levels..........thats not real life..........Now with HH.......its not perfect but it the most closest thing to me when wanting to play a sim without having to play Front Office or Outta The Park...........To me it does not feel like the game is letting you get on base or not........Its feel very lifelike to me........Stats come out near to perfection when playing your own 162 game season........The real kicker is I have played in a 162 game season with 26 players......each having thier own team...........Stats come out perfect.............Nothing is exagerated (sp?)..........Avg. Hr. RBI's..............all on point.........I guess it all come down to a prefrence........I just find it amazing how more would lean toward the Arcade side than sim..........This explains all the nights I spent wondering why EA would not make Madden or Live a true sim.........Wondering why in the world are there Power swings in any baseball game.........Or even a turbo button in any sports games..............anyways...............great topic.......Love this boards.............
