Broken up by J.D. Drew. For once the Mariners defenders couldn't make another great defensive play.

Ya, he really shouldn't have started any hitters with a fastball, oh well...he's human.

Now, we get to see if the Mariners can win a game if their pitcher does not pitch a no-hitter.

Unfortunate, but with his stuff I dont doubt that he will get a no hitter at some point in his career. The bad part is that Drew was the one to break it up, I cant stand him, and no it has nothing to do with him leaving LA, he was overpaid and under performed so Im glad hes gone.

I wonder if they'll let Felix go for the complete game or bring JJ in to close it.

98 pitches through 8, I would leave him but have a short leash.

EDIT- As I typed that, they showed Putz warming up in the pen so we will see.

A few more pitches, and the M's probably would have taken out Felix in favor of J.J. in the 9th -- but I think he could get the shutout here, which IMHO would be just as impressive at 21 years old as the no-no.

A No-No would have been nice? But if you can dominate the Sox like Felix has in any way shape or form? I mean -- I haven't seen the Yankees dominate the Red Sox like that in about 5 years.

There's no doubt here -- just because it won't go down as a no-no doesn't detract a thing from this performance.

They've got JJ warming up but they still may let Felix start the 9th and yank him only if someone gets on.

In Fenway? You kiddin' me? If Drew stays healthy, you're talkin about 30+ homers in fenway. I'd be lovin' him too!

Hell of a pitching performance, runs his scoreless innings streak to 17. His control has been better, his stamina is much improved after cutting weight in the offseason and he basically just looks like a new pitcher this year so far.

Felix is just plain dirty. It's just not fair. Now if the M's could only get some production from their other starters...
