Because when you do something to be charitable...you just do it. If someone notices and thanks you....it's very nice...but it's gravy. You don't do something like that and then punish the kids..."because nobody notices".

WFAN has a Tomorrow's Children's Fund Sell-a-Thon every year. It's been going on all day today. One of the packages...the Yankees donate and it involves a home game....special seats...meeting some players and such. It would probably go for 10-15 thousand dollars...but EVERY year..someone buys it for 100,000 dollars. Anonymously. He then donates it BACK to the TCF for one of the needy families.
NOW THAT'S the way to be charitiable!
        ....(my bet...it's George Stienbrenner himself)

But a knuckleball moves for that exact reason, because the "lack of spin causes alternating vortices over the stitched seams of the baseball and produces an erratic, unpredictable motion." (Wikipedia)

Only sometimes will a baseball player hit the ball so well on the screws, that he will actually knuckle the ball. And I am not lying when I am saying this, but a player that knuckles a ball to right-center field (with emphasis on center) can actually get a ball to knuckle all the way over to the left-center field side of the stadium, and the center fielder would have none chance at catching it. So, that just shows exactly how lethal a knuckleball can be at high speeds.

Too bad I didn't get to see the video.

I see what your getting at. I was thinking it wouldn't be an effective pitch because since it travels like 30 MPH than a knuckleball it would move too fast for the ball to "dance".

Yeah, easy for you to say, no? You're not the one giving out checks for ~$700 just on tickets every 5 days. Seeing as it's Baltimore, I understand where he's coming from. He thought he could buy himself some more fans and publicity, apparently he thinks he was misguided.

EDIT: He's not even in Baltimore. I'm sorry.

You see...anything you want to share with us? Charitable lately? Want to get your dap?
Hope you know, mostly everybody wants to hear a compliment when they do something positive. I know I do.

Do I see what? What the heck are you talking about? or are you just talkin' out of your ***?
If Odalis Perez...or anyone feels like he should get an "atta boy" for doing a good job at work....that's great and legitimate. Sure everyone wants to hear that.
But my point is...you GIVE TO CHARITY out of the goodness of your heart..you DONATE to help others who might be in a tight spot or have a lot less than you....because it will help them...make them feel good and it shouldn't matter if nobody notices. THAT is what charity is about....and you especially shouldn't play the "it's my ball....I'm going home now" game if you don't get recognition. That's a hairbag move.
If you still don't get it...I don't know what to tell you.
This is getting off track anyway.

Right. So the guy is POS to you now, for absolutely doing nothing wrong.

Moving on. MLB is shooting itself in the foot. Youtube is free publicity.
