Oh Happy Day Rewritten for Jackie Robinson?

    Is that not just a little....i dunno....flamboyant?

They're taking a classic religious song and adding "Jackie" where "Jesus" was??

    That...sounded so wrong...

Jackie was a great influence to the game, not saying anything about him, but...was this song really necessary?

BTW, this was on the pregame for the Padres vs. Dodgers game..

I thought it was strange, just as much as I thought Jennifer Hudson's 20 minute rendition of The Star Spangled Banner was.

I dont know, I didnt really have a problem with it.

The thing that was interesting to me were the Barry sucks chants that broke out when Hank Aaron was announced. Hank got a HUGE ovation. Pretty nice. Good National Anthem also.

First and foremost Jennifer Hudson was lookin mighty fine out there! Great rendition of The National Anthem.

Yea i thought it sounded a little weird replacing the son of God's name with Jackie but it's no big deal. Today is Jackie's day so it's cool.

Oh yea, i dont know if that was classless or funny to hear the "Barry sucks" chants. Maybe a little bit of both...

Classless because of the day. Any other day of the week, total class move by the fans.

And the changing of the words, I guess one way to look at it could be that Jesus was crucified and America feels that perhaps Jackie was too. Loose translation there folks, just offering an opinion.

The whole time they were singing it all I could think is:

"If this doesn't end up on "Best Week Ever", then VH1 doesn't know what they're doing".

            It was so corny!

Yes that is what is meant. On a day where there are class guys like Robinson, Aaron, Frank Robinson being represented.....the "Bonds sucks" chants came at a bad time.

Well Hank Aaron is supposed to be in the booth later in the game. Am I the only one hoping that him and Morgan get into a fight about Bonds, which results in Aaron punching Morgan in the face?

I'm with ya, but only if it causes Morgan to lose his speech.

I hear you, but still this is not the time to bring that up.

                              Didn't happen.

BTW does this remind you of MNF at all, just parading celebrities into the booth. At least this is a special occasion.
