    Ian Kinsler

    Batting average - .359
    Home runs - 7
    RBI - 13
    Team runs - 66
Pct. of team runs driven in - 19.7

talk about starting off the year fast. In his second year, Kinsler is already a very good defensive player, but he's also second in the league in HRs after the first month. Of course, he should drop off significantly, but it certainly seems as though the Rangers have found themselves a second baseman.

i imagine fantasy owners that got this kid in the 12th round or so are liking the production so far.

I got him in the 17th round of my 10 team league and he's currently 2nd in the league behind ARod in my points based league.

Agreed. Although, Kinsler will start all year, just his numbers will go down.

I won so many bets on Shelton last year.

I'm glad you've moved beyond your initial anger with me for drafting Kinsler right in front of you and sticking you with the .162-hitting Josh Barfield.

                  Bingo.

Although Kinsler should actually stay in the Majors all season...

Kinsler's the real deal. I saw some of him when he came up last year and the guy has a natural gift for hitting. I think that if he ever stumbles defensively in the Majors that he'll be your prototypical power DH.

Kinsler won't be this years Shelton. Granted his production won't keep up at this rate, but he won't completely fall off like Shelton did last year.

Gotta totally disagree with the Shelton comment. Its not like this is Kinsler's first year. He started Opening Day last year, and if he hadn't gotten hurt, would have been the starter all year at 2nd for the Rangers. Even if he does drop off, which there's no way he won't, he'll still be the everyday first baseman for the Rangers the rest of the year, and many years to come. When Mike Young says someone's gonna be an All Star, I think its safe to say he's a pretty good player.

                            Agreed.

I really wanted this guy on my fantasy team. I could get really good trade value out of him right now.
