Is the homeruns chase that important ?

MLB probably hoped that fans would get into Barry Bond,s chase..but outside os San Francisco they don't.

    Can't we blame them ? I don't think so.
And not because of the steroid controversy...
Let's be honest here...most players du use some form of steroid...so of all of them, Bonds is the best.

But, how long will Bonds have his record ?
    15 years ..top

We're in the homerun era of baseball, that's how MLB decided to sell the game.

Like you said, other than San Francisco and Northern California, people really don't care.

Personally, I'm hoping that if I ignore him enough he'll just fall off the earth.

I do. It's baseball's most hallowed record and most, if not all, sportings programs will be interrupted to witness the moment.

I think the reason most people don't care (count me as one of them) is because Barry Bonds has been an A-hole long before the steroid scandal. He has always been an arrogant, I think I'm better then you jerk. I was hoping he would get injured and forced to retire and never break the record.

And I'll be playing with my daughter, that's how much it means to me. Anyone else and I would care.

I'm cheering for Barry. A-Rod will break Bonds' record anyways, barring injury. Plus, BB can be however he wants... After all, he IS better than us.

Baseball's biggest record broken? I personally want to see it (no matter who it is).

It's really not that important to me. Maybe if Barry Bonds was a nicer guy I would have a little more interest, but I think it sucks that Aarons going to lose his record. Hopefully in a few years A-Rod will be in a position to break the homerun record.

While you are trying to be funny and it is a funny comment. Think about what you just said. So if it was something important to you. You would not play with your kid?

                        I'll be honest.

It's people like you that make me WANT to see Barry break the record.

Hoping someone gets hurt to the point they have to retire? That's disgusting.

I wish a few pitchers would bean him with the ball. He crowds the plate so much and wears so much body armor its a joke. Thats just not Barry Bonds either...I think the MLB should restrict how much padding one can wear.

                            Why?

Anyway, I crowd the plate more than Bonds. As a matter of fact, yesterday the catcher was complaining because he said that my back knee was hanging over the strike zone. For some reason, the umpire said, "Well then, hit him... it will be a strike." Needless to say, they stayed away with me all game except for one inside pitch that I doubled down the line.

Bonds can turn on the pitch, and he can back away from pitches that may skin him. If they go inside, he's even more lethal (as am I, but I'm no Bonds). If they pull a Russ Springer, they should be ejected, suspended, and fined. If they hit him by going inside on a challenge fastball, then I applaud the pitcher.
