    Re: Have a feeling.....Yankees

No chance in hell that the Yankees A) Sweep Boston B) Win the AL East

Yankees won't even make the playoffs this year. They just lost a series to the Blue Jays when guys like Dustin McGowan and Shaun Marcum owned them.

I think Favre4ever needs a nice sig/avatar when the Yankees don't win the division- I'm willing to rock a Jeter avatar if the Yankees win the division (yuck)

The Yankees don't really even have the talent they once had. Damon's a shell of himself. Giambi was awful and now might miss the rest of the year. They have Doug Mientkiewicz/Andy Phelps playing first. They only have 3 bullpen pitchers. (I'm including Mo with Bruney and Proctor because of his track record). I think the Yankees have a shot at the wild card, but they're not catching the Red Sox.

This thread....damn what one win will do to a fan.

Like all those people crowning James as the Second Coming after that crazy Game 5.

If this was before 2004 then I'd agree. But nope

This thread started before the win...It is just a gut feeling that they will come all the way back...No more, no less.

If they fire Cashman they are morons, Torre is the one that needs to be put down

I truly think they make a big trade before's all said and done whether that be for Texiera I'm not sure. Another huge target may be Zambrano. Helton could also be aquired for the right price I'm sure. Kind of someone who doesn't get enough credit but I think would fit in New York would be Aaron Rowand. He could start in center with Damon DHing now and leave Cabrera on the bench, or they could use Cabrera as a trading trip to aquire Rowand.

I don't understand why the Yankees think they can still make blockbuster trades? They have like one or two true prospects aging superstars and tons of money... Any smart team wouldn't do business with them and I doubt any GM is going to let the Yanks fleece his team of talent. They may be able to get free agents but there's no way the Yankees are just going to steal talent in trades anymore.

No but as the season wears on, guys like Zambrano are only going to hurt their value. Right now though, the Yanks need some sort of help and I think would be willing to overcompensate for a guy like him.... especially with Cashman's @$$ in the ringer.

Only because there is so much drama with him. EVERYTHING is a freaking ordeal with him. He is one of the best players in baseball and may hit 800 homers when all is said and done.

I just think he is such a distraction no matter what his performance is. He's going to opt out anyway (Boras!) and I hope the Yankees just let him walk.

So, I have no baseball logic for this statement. He just annoys me (and I wasn't part of the AROD sucks crowd last year. He actually annoys me more this year now that he is performing before his opt out clause)

I don't think the Yankees will do anything, any time soon. Their big move was Clemens. If they can cut the deficit in half before the all-star break, they'll be just fine. I think Giambi being out is actually going to help them right now.

So who do you think they throw at Texas if they chose to persue Texeira?
