I meant to type Rodriguez. Before he came to NY he had a sub 4.00 ERA in five of his six previous seasons. He comes to NY and can't get anyone out or stay healthy.

The lead needs to be down to around 5 or 6 by the end of the month.

Yea, I'll eat crow on that one. . But it has to give you a scare to give up a 4 run lead that quickly.

They have to cut nine games into the lead in one month but they have three to cut five or six?

Anyway, anything can happen but I still don't think the Yanks will win the division which I'm fine with. As long as they make the post season I'm good.

The yankees will not make the playoffs. That bullpen isn't all that great, and not only that, they will be obscenely overworked. Their arms will be falling off by the time the allstar break hits.

No one except for Wang can really get out of the 6th inning reliably, and that is a huge issue that's going to sink them this year.

So when do you have New York retaking the division lead for good?

I have it down on August 15.

Sometime in September... There's still alot of ground to make up and I don't see the Sox completely collapsing; they'll be in the playoffs too.

                          June 9th, 2007: 28-31; 10.5 games back
                          June 9th, 2005: 29-30; 6 games back

The only difference is obviously how well Boston is doing this year, compared to 2005. Hopefully we can get it down to 5 or 6 games by the end of the month.

No, it wasn't dumb, it was basic baseball strategy. I doubt there's a manager in the league that doesn't do the same thing.
