Re: When Baseball Forums go Bad!

A couple of weeks ago in the Everything Else Forum people were complaining about how many unregistered users were on the system. There were many cries of, "Come on people, sign up and join in the discussion!" Now we're seeing the "I don't like all these new people and their inane questions," comments. Granted there are some rediculous questions from newbies but 95 % of the time the topic let's you know it's going to be a ridiculous question, so don't open it up. If you do open the topic and see a lame question, a simple answer wih the comment of "by the way, that's in the such-and-such interview" would be the frinedly thing to do in my opinion." Or don't answer and move on to another topic.

I've been on these forums for well more than a year, mostly as a reader, as is obvious by my post count. Frankly, I don't have a lot of time and would rather read the various posts than chime in with my response to each topic. I see a lot of "Which game is better" topics and roll my eyes, but a few of those same people might wind up contributing some kind of interesting insight down the road and IMO don't really deserve to be blasted out of the starting gate here.

All we simply ask is to take the time to read the STICKIES and to check all the topics for the day to ensure you are not making a repeat thread. This simply clutters up the forum, makes our job tougher and makes more posts for the user to sort through.

Pretty simple stuff and common courtesy on any internet forum no matter how many posts you have.

      Thanks for reading this...

I never said I did'nt like any of the new users. In my original post I said that I'm not mad at em, twice. so I aint blasting no one. Its just that alot of new users are asking as you said inane questions b/c they dont no any better. The last sentence in your first paragraph is exactly what I said should be done. And I gave props to a few posters for doing so. I on the other hand wont take the time to do it so as you said, I go to the next post and dont answer.
My complaint was that the forum has been filled with questions that have been posted multiple times, and questions that if the user took the time to find out first could have been avoided.
I dont think nobodys blasting them, its just this place has changed in the last week or so and it annoys me. ME. And a few other ppl agreed with me, thats why there is a sticky up there stating the fact.

Also, why are you arguing which game is better when no one other than Steve, has ever played any of them. All we've seen are screenshots and movies. It's way to early to be talking "what game is best" and getting into arguments about it. You'll sound like a 5 year old like, "my dad can kick your dad's arse."

                  Graphik,

Don't mind me...have had too much caffeine mixed with a bad work day topped off with a colicky kid--and just misinterpreted the tone of a few the earlier posts on this topic...my bad.

I understand, the repetitive posts and questions that are answered 50 million other places make me

If ive got one real grip about forums in general, its the guys who say crap like this, that we all heard before (matter of fact, i heard it in the "Whos excited about MVP baseball thread (or something like that)) :

This (insert game hear) sux, (insert game hear) is 10xs better, it roxxx. Game 1 is crap, it looks like crap, it plays like crap, and sounds like crap. Im not going to get it cause it sux.

I guess it makes them feel better about themselves because they can freely express themselves without having someone come and knock their block off. That or they could work for the rival company (it happens more than you would think).

For one day I wish i was a Mod, just so i could mod those peoples messages, and take away their posting rights, and to top it off, say some dumb **** back to them, in a similar way that they would............Ah, that would be great!
