This year is tough for baseball games. WSB looks to be a big improvement over an already good game, MVP has really impressed me with the overhaul (and Kruk and Kuip as announcers), and High Heat is always solid, but I really don't like bad graphics. Basically the only game that I'm not really interested in is ASB.

I most likely, out of all the games will prolly keep HH amd WSB. My bro n law likes HH. and I've never played WSB, but I've been becoming more and more a sega fanboy.

High Heat is released first this year because 3DO knows the other games are better and want to take advantage of all the anxious baseball fans who want something now...

There's no doubt being first to market will attract some people who are on the fence, but after two weeks that advantage is gone.

It' s a smart play by 3DO but ultimately will probably only mean a few thousand sales to hardcore baseball fans w/ no patience. Which means nothing to EA but is a significant number of units to 3dO.

And as long as we're talking weeks -- instead of months or years, the "best" game will rise to the top regardless of its release date.
