Yeah the life he lived finally caught up to him. I heard he was doing good, but it gets you sooner or later. My prayers go out to his love ones.

I was disappointed that this was the first thing I heard about today. Shooter did a hell of a job filling in for Hoffy in 2003, one of the few bright spots of the squad. I didn't know much about his playing career other than that. He had problems in 2004 that led to him being released by the Padres.

Wow only 38? He looked like he was 40 ten years ago, He was one of my favorites when I was younger because he had a Mullet and a cool mustache and pitched for the Bosox, only way to honor a guy like him is to crack open a cold beer. RIP Rod

We cracked some open today in memory of Rod. 98 would have never been the same if he wasn't a Cub. He can now pound beers with Harry everyday. RIP
