Agreed. I assume Larussa wanted another infielder so he took Sanchez. However, I've felt for a while that Snell was the most deserving on the Pirates followed by Gorzelanny.

Heck, I think Nady is the most deserving offensive player for the Pirates. Sanchez might be 3rd.

yeah I'm loving having the late relievers as a choice I'm voting for Neshek or Okajima with every other vote I get.

There were plenty of better infielder choices. Renteria, Rollins, and H. Ramirez to name three.

Thankfully the Royals were given a respectable representative this year.

The NL pitching staff is atrocious and the roster leaves a lot to be desired

Certainly, but he had to take 1 Pirate. It's part of the reason I hate that managers have to take 1 player from every team.

Snell and Gorzelanny were easily more deserving for the Pirates than Sanchez, but I think Larussa was happy with the pitchers he chose and felt he didn't have room for another. I'm guessing Larussa was happy with the outfielders he had because Nady was the best offensive player the Pirates could put in. So I think the reason Sanchez made it was that Larussa wanted to add another infielder and had to add a Pirate player. That leaves Sanchez.

I wouldn't say its atrocious at all...Peavy and Penny are having incredible years (as is Young if he gets the final vote), and Hamels, Sheets, and Smoltz can all give you a good inning. Relief pitching isn't amazing but is better than what I'm used to seeing from a certain bullpen.

The only glaring mistakes in the starting lineup are Wright over Cabrera and Matt Holliday without one of the OF spots. I'd probably put him in over Beltran.

Agreed with both of those. Beltran's numbers are just average. I'm a little surprised Brian McCann got chosen, but after Martin it was a tossup almost. Estrada, Molina, and Lo Duca all could make a case.

How the hell is Jimmy Rollins not on this team, he's 2nd best baseball shortstop, No disrespect to J.J. Hardy he should be on the team but he's not as hot as he was early in the season. If you are going to take 1 player off that team it should be Freddy Sanchez. J-Roll should def be on that list.

Anyone else agree some of it is fake, if they want someone to make it they will just mess with it, and have the fans vote him in, with a few added votes. I remember a few years ago Lee was down 2 million votes on Pujols into the weekend and ended up beating him by 500 thousand votes no way, and Bay awas voted in last year. Also how is Izzie not on the team. The teams manager is the coach and could put him in, but he put Fuentes who has blown 4 straight saves on instead of him. He has only blown 2 saves, and 1 of them was a joke with a wind blown ball and has an era under 2.

Chris Young and Hideki Okajima win the final vote for the last players on the All Star. I don't have a problem with either of them winning, though I did vote for Neshek instead of Okajima.

Not that I don't think Okajima doesn't deserve, but it's worth noting that Red Sox Nation is 3/3 in voting our guys in for the final spot.

White Sox fans are 2/2, suprisingly.
