    The Phillies...

Call me crazy, but I really think this is gonna be a team to watch in the NL. Yes, they lost Scott Rolen, but they got Jim Thome(which pains me because I'm an Indians fan). They also brought in Kevin Millwood, David Bell, and locked up Pat Burell for a long time. Don't forget they also have a great leadoff hitter/SS in Jimmy Rollins and a great young ace in Vincente Padilla. Just some random thoughts.

I agree, but dont look for them to win many more than 90 games. The NL East is a very tough division.

The Phillies will make the playoff's, but how far they go in it remains a question. The starting pitching is a little young and inexperienced (With the exception of Millwood). Should be interesting to see if Wolf can have a whole season like his second half last year. Bullpen remains a question mark as well. Can Mesa put together 3 consecutive great years at his age?

Padilla will not be as good this year, he was overused last season and showed obvious signs of fatigue. I have a feeling it'll drag over to this year.

They still have a bullpen capable of blowing every lead as well. Joe Kerrigan wasa great pickup, and is probably the best pitching coach in the game, so hopefully he can turn that BP around.

I think that Padilla will have a good soph season. He has amazing movement on his pitches. Barry Larkin said he was the best pitcher in the NL last year. Thats pretty high praise.

I think the thing with Padilla is he was a reliever the year before. He had never pitched more than 200 innings. Then he pitched over 300 innings last with spring training and winter ball. I think last year was an adjustment year for him. Hopefully, for the phillies, he will be ok this year. I certainly hope so.
