Re: Do you realize how OVER the season is?

Since the Allstar break they have played...

    TB (4-game series)
    TOR (4 -game series)
    TB (4- game series)
    KC (4-game series)
    BAL (4-game series)
    CHW (3-game series)
    KC (3-game series)
    TOR (3-game series)

Gees with such a difficult schedule after the all-star break, it's a real shocker why they have been so good...

Yankees are going to play some tough teams comming up that will really show whether they are contenders or not.
18-1 hell of a season regardless

If the Yankees win the wildcard, it's still a bad season. They haven't not won the division since 1997.

You do know why Towers and the Jays have a thing against A-Rod right? My problem is that A-Rod acts as if he does not deserve this treatment. Hell of a player, but hes a flat out egotist.

BTW: the Yanks were on a roll before that happend, and I think the threat of not making the playoffs is bigger than this incident.

Like you said. Nothing is set in stone. Not even a Yankee collapse.
He pointed out the 3-0 collapse to show that nothing's set in stone. Not to say that the Yankees will absolutely fall apart.

The Towers thing will mean nothing in the long run. The guy won't be a Blue Jay next year and A-Rod well...He's a prick. Tho I blame the 2nd bench clearing incident on Tony Pena.

Anywho I still don't think the Yanks are going to make the playoffs.

Agreed, the Yanks were on the path before lastnight and should continue.

Towers, I love the guy for standing up for himself (against Tony P), but I hope hes done in a Jays uni. I have never seen a "control pitcher" miss so much out over the plate before.

But it was just amazing over the past 2 days his reaction to being thrown at. Yeah get mad, but the way his demenor was; as if he is the victim of crimes that are unjust.

I will always respect his tallent, but I can never cheer for a person like that.

It wasn't a brawl. It was just two teams clearing the benches because A-Rod and Towers both overreacted. And the second time the benches cleared Tony Pena couldn't keep his fat mouth shut so that was that.

I loved the post-game reaction from Towers, BTW. Described Pena to a tee . Yeah, it's the KC Royals, but still... quitting on your team in the middle of the season .

And after a month, we can all look back on this game and it will be meaningless in the long run.

No matter what happens in baseball, you don't throw at an opposing player twice. On Monday they threw at him and he accepted it without a fuss but you cannot throw at someone in consecutive games - that's total BS. Plus on top of that if you're A-Rod and you confront Towers and he essentially says "Go the **** down to first base" I would have flipped out way more than A-Rod did. That's simply disrespecting someone's manhood.

I guess Toronto felt they needed a bush league move to pay back A-Rod for what they felt was a bush league move on the pop up. Tonight will be very interesting.

I did, and he said bench clearing... i didn't analyze his comment enough to let him know that it wasn't an actual brawl but it could have been.

How can being thrown at ever be justice? Do you like getting thrown at? **** hurts like hell man... All he said was "Ha!" running by John McDonald who sucks anyway and shouldn't even talk.

What does that say about baseball when that is considered bush-league when in basketball you hear that from your opponent on nearly every shot?

                          1. I didn't see the pitch but most of the time when you're being beaned it's usually a "soft" pitch like a breaking ball so it lessens the pain and it's usually on the butt or thigh area.

                          2. It was Howie Clark not McDonald (btw Johnny Mac doesn't suck. He's Gold Glove material at SS AND he's actually hitting this year)

It was a fastball that hit in the inside on A-Rod's knee cap on his right leg.

Oh well in that case A-Rod had a legit reason to be upset but it wasn't like he didn't deserve it. Honestly the umps should've taken more control and thrown Towers out of the game especially since the Jays tried to do the same thing the day before.

                                Get the facts right....

1st. John Mac is a very good Defensive SS. If you saw the game you saw his play. And trust me lastnight was no fluke.

2nd it was Howie Clark who he distrupted

3rd he said "mine", not "HA!". Look at the tape and you decide.

4th I played SS for a few years in HS ball and I have a head-on colision with an outfielder before because neither of us called for the ball that was a blooper in short left field.

--> You call for the ball to avoid injury. ARod knows this since he is a 3rd basemen and he knows that the middle always has priority. Arod yelling "Mine" or "Ha" was designed to use make Clark belive that he was being called off. All Clark did was try to get out of the way to avoid injury. If Arod gets hurt then he gets what he deserved.

ARod knows better than that, and to say that Clark (not Mcdonald) is a bad player should excuse this is just plain ignorant.
