Re: Montreal fan looking for a team
Brooklyn had an attachment to the Dodgers nothing like Montreal had with the Expos. They moved because the city wouldn't support the team. The Nets are moving away from New Jersey but I'm still going to be a fan of the Brooklyn Nets because I understand that Jersey wasn't supporting them.Comment

Re: Montreal fan looking for a team
I remember having to do this for college football. I liked a bunch of teams for specific players (Marshall for Byron Leftwich and Penn State for, of all people, Curtis Enis), but once they left, I was stuck. I ended up picking Florida, I forget why though..
The only advice I can give you though, if you'd like to stay sane for the rest of your life, don't become an Orioles fan.Comment

Now by the very last years the hardcore base frittered away due to frustration over team ownership and management. Lauria had promised the city a cozy 30 thousand seat stadium in a better part of Montreal but he pulled the plug on it for some reason.
Montreal also regularly had 40k crowds for opening day for the last 5-10 years of the franchise's time there so there were people interested in baseball but like I said frustration, a crappy facility that was falling apart and ownership that didn't really want to keep the team in Montreal drove the fans away.
So to dismiss Montreal's fan base due to the last 3-5 years makes it seem you can't see the forest for the trees.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I don't get it. Didn't you already have your address written on the envelope? Why did the Diamondbacks ask for it?NBA 2K11 My Player: 6'11 Athletic Center/PF 58ovr Rockets

While he was the "owner" of the Expos, he did everything to try to move this team (there were no television or radio broadcasts of the Expos for a long time).
And, if you guys are trying to "sell" me your team, don't spend too much time talking about the players ...I know all the players already, and most of them won't be with the same team in 2-3 years anyway.
"Sell" me the organisation, the city, the relation with Montreal and the Expos etc.Comment

Re: Montreal fan looking for a team
You'll have to work harder then that for me to give the Marlins 2 points ...because of Jeffrey Lorria and David Samson...
