I still say until proven otherwise, you're overreacting, especially by going out and getting another, inferior, game.

Re: High Heat Sightings and First Impressions here...
ya, it sucks that a great game like this would have any problems at all...
EA won't even have to try next year...if I'm wrong, and everyone's assumption that this bug comes up often is true, we could be waiting a LOOOOOOOOONG time for another great baseball game.Comment

Re: High Heat Sightings and First Impressions here...
Well, first of all let me say I loved loved loved High Heat 2003. In fact I still do. And also, let me say I have only played 6 innings of 2004 and have not explored the other new aspects of the game (minor leagues, franchise) at all yet. So this is my 1st Impresstion only....last years game is better.
My first 6 innings were tremendously unimpressive. The slowdown is extremely annoying. I understand that some people don't even notice it, which is great for them. I remember in the old triple Play days (99 in particular), the slowdown right after the ball was hit was so annoying to me but invisible to others and this game reminds me of that. It is most evident when in the behind the pitcher view on ground balls.
And also, although I can tell the graphics are improved, I somehow feel they have lost the charm of last years game. And the game also moves much slower do to all of the new animations.
Now hopefully tomorrow I will give the game some more time and overcome these mixed emotions I am feeling now. Can anyone name me some great additions in gameplay that I might be missing? I am not talking franchise or anything like that. Simply on the field, game of baseball additions. I was a serious fan of '03 and this game honestly doesn't feel any better to me....am I just rushing to judgement?
At this point I feel like I will consider bringing it back. Gamestop allows returns within 7 days yes/no? 50 dollars is a lot to me, and I am seriously considering just updating last years rosters and having a go with that for a season instead. Maybe I will get a different game if any of the others turn out to be great, or maybe not.
Well thanks for listening, and hopefully someone can show me the greatness that lies underneath my small qualms with the game. Thanks everyone.

Re: High Heat Sightings and First Impressions here...
the fielding seems a lot cleaner...the graphics are greatly improved, more pitches, more sliders....that's just what I can think of off the top of my head.
Assuming we don't find out this fly ball bug happens every few games, I think this is the best HH yet.Comment

Inferior?? The game is not even released and its already inferior to a game that allows runners to score with 3 outs? I've been with HH for years, and I think what happened is that Sega, EA, etc, have adjusted their games to reflect the realism of HH, and HH is showing its age. The fact is that the gameplay carried the title. Now that it is compromised it doesn't have the other pieces in place to carry it. With all this said it is a shame that it was released with such a bug in the code. The XBOX version will either be replaced and delayed or 3D0 will be seriously done. As for the PS2, I'm sure over 150,000 copies + are floating around and don't see such a "small" company doing any type of recall."if only you've seen, what I've seen with your eyes.."
