Well, I have made my baseball decision!

After reading the High Heat review and then getting to see the game in action, I have decided to pass on it. It seemed that High Heat 2004 needed more time and thus lacked the polish needed for my baseball jones.

Then today, I read the EGM review on WSB 2k3 and it seemed that it lacked in several main AI areas that would take the fun out of the game. I usually take reviews with a grain of salt but I must admit that they have influenced my buying decision this year more than any other time in history.

After reading everything that MVP baseball is lacking it's first year out, I have opted to wait until next year to give the game a whirl. I really need the indepth franchise mode to keep my interest for all 162 games.

That just leaves Inside Pitch and ASB 2004 on the table! So it looks like I will buy ASB 2004 for my franchise and I will take a wait and see approach to Inside Pitch. The truth be told, I am interested in Inside Pitch for it's online play only.

So in the end, has anyone else really felt that they have been let down by this year's baseball offerings? I guess like every year, I always feel sucked in by the hype.

World Series Baseball has always been my game & there are always disappointing things about it, but this is finally the year that I've been waiting for these past ten years. Graphics, gameplay & stability of a console game + career player stats! My dream is finally being realized!

So no, I'm not disappointed. But I'm easy.

i'd be careful with ASB i think it only has 20 year franchise limit WSB, MVP, and HH have unlimited years

I really love the addition of the stadium homerun animations that Sega added for WSB 2k3. The problem I am struggling with is if the game can keep my interest as the season goes on. I didn't feel challenged by either High Heat or WSB last year and thus that put me on the fence. I guess it didn't take much to find myself changing gears all of the sudden. I feel bummed out by the reviews and buggy game play. I know every year and every game had some type of problems but I guess I was expecting more. Why is it that I find myself letdown once again, when I know every year that this happens? What can I say, I'm just a die hard sports player wanting the best.

Is the EGM review online? Linkage?

What did EGM rate WSB 2k3 and High Heat? Thanks.

Regardless of reviews I always get the World Series game. Heck 2K1 is one of my all time favorite baseball games.

Me & you must be the only people who like that one =P It has it's big problems, like every game, but I love it. It looks & feels so smooth, if that makes sense. I really liked the way you hold the trigger down then release it when you want to swing. Instead of pushing a button, you're releasing it. That felt so comfortable. And the uniforms are beautiful to me. Yeah!
