There have been worse collapses. Ironically, the Phillies had one of them.Comment

Re: Most disappointing team?
I think Philly was 6 ahead w/12 to go in the sixties. Willie Randolph shouldn't be the manager of the Mets past October 1st. No excusing this one.Originally posted by VP Richard M. Re: Most disappointing team?
The Orioles disappointed me by failing to crack .500 for the 10th consecutive season.
The Mets are easily the most disappointing overall though.Comment

Re: Most disappointing team?
Oh yeah that Phillies team choked it pretty badly in '64. The '07 Mets tho have probably erased that Phillies collapse from most people's minds now.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I remember the Angels being a part of a big collapse in the 70's or 80's. They blew a lead of around 11-12 games.Comment

Re: Most disappointing team?
Most dissapointing? Detroit Tigers. It seemed like if they were to finish 2nd AL Central, they'd surely win the WC. But they choked after AS Break.Twitter

That's the one. For some reason I thought it was way earlier than '95.Comment

Re: Most disappointing team?
I don't know why they call San Fran '93 a collapse. You win 103 games, you should be in the playoffs. Contrast that w/this year, where the D'Backs have home field for the NL w/just 90 wins. That one, you just have to give credit to the Braves.Originally posted by VP Richard M.
