The last thing we need is to lose our closer. He's done great in winter leagues I've read. We had this problem a few years ago, our bullpen is finally a good one. We don't need to change it at all. Except BJ Ryan.

    Ugh..the Timlin days...

I think we got Lightenberg for just that reason (to get rid of Julio), but it's just a thought.

    This is Belle's last year.

I-Rod would have been a bust becuase he wanted a 1 year contract, and then left us for greener pastures. He almost signed a three year deal, close to 10 mill a year w/ incentives, until those dirty marlins came around.

Hmm, that may be. I forgot all about getting Kerry.

Oh, and by the way, O's lost to Marlins 4-3 today, gave up 3 runs in the 9th to give it away. Oh well.

Noone really did anything special, Tony went 2/2 with an RBI, Cruz and Gil also had an RBI each.

Pitching staff did good of course, allowing only 1 through 8 innings, til Pina blew it in the 9th.

Looks like we beat the Marlin's today, and MLB.com has a pretty sweet pic of Jerry Hair making a tag at second. My Jay Gibbons Wallpaper shall now come down...

In other news, can't say I'm really saddend by the loss of Erickson. He really didn't have much last year, and now Johnson, Douglass and Bauer have a shot.

Yup, Erickson's gone for the year. Looks like he won't be offered a new contract. I'd like to see Douglass or Bauer get the nod over Johnson. He's gotten his chance... and he stinks.

Yes sir, I agree. I was glad to see Erickson go out for the season. I hate to root for a guy to have an injury like that, but on the other hand it gives the younger guys more playing time, which is invaluable for a rebuilding franchise.

                    C: Gil - 27
                    1b: Segui - 32
                    2b: Hariston - 26
                    3b: Batista - 30
                    ss: Cruz - 30
                    lf: Cordova - 33
                    cf: Matthews - 28
                    rf: Gibbons - 25
                    sp: Lopez - 28
                    sp: Ponson - 26
                    sp: Daal - 30
                    sp: Hentgen - 34
                    cl: Julio - 23

Only Gibbons and Julio are potential starters under 25 years old. We're not that young. The O's (even though I love 'em) are a long ways away from getting young talent and competing in this division.

Just read the box score for today's game. Wow, we crushed those Mets!! Ok, not really, but they don't look so bad at all! Segui, Conine and Surhoff all had great games and some of the pitchers threw well (Dubose, Cabrera). Third place, here we come!

Who's going to be doing the TV commentary now that Flanigans gone? (I live up in NY so I haven't heard any news)

I just hope that Segui stays healthy, he really makes this a better team.

Also, In my HH franchise I pulled the trigger on a Carlos Beltran for Sidney Ponson/Marty Cordova deal.

Anyone create lightenberg or Douglass yet and have the stats for them?
