If he had a decent season, I would maybe understand his greedyness, but he should sign a 1 year contract for 8 mil or whatever with the braves, and show he still has it.

The reason Jones is asking for so much is because Scott Boras is his agent. You know he's going to get some team to overpay for him. I wouldn't be surprised if he signs a 1 year contract with some team to try and get his value up and then go for a multi-year deal next offseason.

        I wouldn't touch him with a 10' pole.

Fortunately for Andrew I'm not in charge of the Giants.

im not really surprised that andruw isnt coming back either because to me after the season he had it was time to cut the cord and move on. Im pretty sure they will try to re-sign mark to a long term deal and either go after a outfielder in the free agent market or bring someone up from their farm system. I think the teams that will probably go after jones are the rangers giants and whoever else needs a decent batter with gold glove skills. Thanks andruw for the great years you gave the braves fans

My favorite Brave player is gone. I named my son Andrew after my favorite player too...I knew it was going to happen. Going to seem strange seeing him in another uniform.

I'm guessing Brandon Jones will start at LF, while moving Harris to CF. But where does that put Diaz? Unless Jones doesn't earn a spot, I guess Diaz would start at LF. Although, all signs pointing to Jones earning at least a spot on the roster next year. Dude is a stud. Frenchy type OF, hits for higher average though.

They will probably try and sign a veteran CF to fill in next year I would think. Someone like Mike Cameron for example.

The Braves supposedly had some interest in Coco Crisp last winter so i wouldn't be surprised if his name comes up again. The Sox need to clear a spot for Jacoby Ellsbury to play everyday next year and i doubt they will ask for much in return for Crisp.

Goodbye, I wish they got rid of you 2 years ago for anyone who could hit an outside pitch.

If I was a GM I don't think I would pay him anything over $8 million and that may be to high.

Hopefully they trade for David DeJesus, like being talked about on Braves-Nation.

We need a CF like Jones. But, i don't want to overpay for him.

If Andruw does like most players the Braves let go he will do well wherever he goes.

If you look at all transactions made by the Braves the past decade you will notice that about 75% of them are well known players now.

Andruw is already well known but after this season he is considered a washed up player. Give em 2 seasons and he will be him old self I bet.

I'm not so sure about that. What guys have done better after leaving the Braves recently? Schmidt is about the only pitcher, but he has struggled. Wainright has done pretty well with the Cardinals, but he's not a star. Maddux and Glavine are doing alright, but no better than when they were with the Braves. Marcus Giles didn't do much this year. LaRoche didn't do much with Pittsburgh. Estrada is doing nothing. Millwood isn't doing much. I seriously can't think of anyone offhand that has proven to be a huge mistake in the way of trades or letting someone go other than Schmidt. You could argue Jermaine Dye, but the Braves have actually had better production from the RF spot without him. The Wainright trade does still bug me because it was fror J.D. Drew and as expected, he was nothing but a rental. Generally, I think JS makes the right moves. Now, if he could just go get Santana....

yea, I don't know about that.

I'd say that the Braves have been genius in knowing which guys to let go and move on instead of paying big money to.

It's like the A's. They've done a good job of letting big free agents walk and not have it bite them in the butt down the road.

you are crazy, willie harris will not start for the braves next year. I don't even think he will make the roster. His first half of the season was just pure luck.

I sure hope they just make Matt Diaz our Left Fielder and go sign a halfway decent center fielder.

Use the money to get a 3rd starter to with smoltz and hudson. Smoltz, Hudson, Hampton, James and a decent other guy would be great
