Re: Johan Santana may waive no-trade clause
I kind of doubt that the new GM will have the balls to pull this trade off . If he does though, I hope that one team gets involved with the sole focus of driving the price up for another team. I would assume that any trade will be contingent on Johan signing a contract extension as no team should be stupid enough to mortgage their future for a rental player. Johan is good but he isn't that good where he guarantees a championship.Last edited by bergie56; 10-03-2007, 11:26 AM.Comment

Re: Johan Santana may waive no-trade clause
I wonder, if Santana goes to any of the New York teams if he'll blow up? I dunno, seems he has a desire to win and all and is a tremendous pitcher but NY does things to players like no other city in the majors.
Anyways I hope he's traded to the NLMember of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Johan Santana may waive no-trade clause
I hope he goes to the NL as well. I am not sure if he would last in NY or not. He is a very easy go lucky guy and from all accounts doesn't take himself too seriously, which leads me to believe he would be fine. However, as you said NY does mysterious things to a player.Comment

He'd have an ERA below 2 in the NL West with our ballparks.Comment

Re: Johan Santana may waive no-trade clause
Reyes alone wouldn't be enough. We are going to demand an established MLB player and two prospects. I am guessing that we will demand an established bat and a pitching prospect and a power hitting 3B or LF prospect. I don't really think that a pitching prospect is too important though, since I think we have decent options already. I think that Garza has the stuff to be an ace, so if we do demand pitching prospects, I hope they aren't the focus of the trade.

The Hunter situation is more immediate than the Santana situation, but I don't think the Twins think that he is more important. I have a feeling neither will be with the team in 2 years.Comment

Hunter, Santana and Nathan.
Two of them guys will be gone most likely. Maybe, all three.Comment
