I'm pretty good at getting people out, but when it rains it pours. How do you change pitches you get in BP?

In BP, before you actually go into BP, there should be an option for settings. If you go in there, you'll be able to change the types of pitches, where they pitch them, and so on and so forth. If you practice enough, you'll be better at picking up the ball. I also think the camera angle helps in this.

Personally I use the Low cam, I really pick up the ball from the release point really well, and on Allstar, I would say I avg about 10 hits a game, even though I dont always get a hit, I do make solid contact most of the time. I have the Contact Ease on default, and may lower it, but like I said, I do pick up the ball well.

Its only with some pitchers and their arsenal that confuse me (and maybe others). Like if a pitcher has a sinker and moving fastball, I may jump on a pitch, thats a ball because it starts out like the sinker, but is really a fastball.

I suggest you play a mock season, like 10 or 20 games on AllStar, just to see different pitchers, and release points (Okha did me dirty last night, because he had the sidearm delivery), then when you feel comfortable, start your real season. It will help you out alot, and improve your ability.

i play MVP and I'm 7-2 with the Dodgers so far. My best advice is work the count as much as possible. I rarely swing at the first pitch unless its a straight fastball down the middle. I rarely use the directional pad like most others. ...When you get better you'll find that you can actually intentionally pull hits when u want and hit to the opposite field in the necessary situations. I've been playing HH on Ps2 since 2002. Year to year its pretty much the same approach. You just have to get used to the speed of the game. Sometimes a pitcher will be hot and there's nothing you can do about it...I.E. I just faced Miguel Batista and he K'd me 8 times in 6 innings. It happens. But if you are patient (Loduca walked 6 times before he had his first K) then you'll do just fine. Pay attention to what happens during the game. If the pitcher walks a batter on 4 pitches more often then not they'll groove you a fastball down the pipe to the next batter...so be ready. There's lots of little nuances you can pick up on that'll tip you off to what he's gonna throw. They will set you up with fast balls then drop a 70 mph 12-6 curve..thats what makes this game great. Good luck and let me know how you do.
