I"m going to say it but I don't believe it

        retired:

        Cal Ripken

        Active:

        Derek Jeter

I would seriously crap a load if either name comes out.

Are pain killers not covered in this? Some pain killers can work to some great effect. One would think Cal may need some to keep his streak alive.

I'm just saying i'd be shocked if those names came out. Remember Tejada was pretty durable til this past season or two and the consensus is that he took SOMETHING.

Pain killers? Are professional athletes supposed to take NOTHING in order to be viewed as legitimate? Are we going to be debating whether or not Ripkin's streak is legitimate years from now when it's learned that he was popping four or five Ibuprofen before games? How about if he just drank more milk than the average player? He certainly advertised the stuff. All those extra vitamins and calcium had to benefit him unfairly if he were getting more than the average player.

Hey i'm not casting aspersions on Ripken. I love the guy, he was one of my favourites growing up. When I say painkillers I don't mean your run of the mill over the counter stuff either.

Lorcets aren't going to make you play better. They might put you to sleep, but I don't think you have to worry about Cal being on any list.

I was under the impression that the list was only going to be current players?

You could add Todd Hundley and Rey Ordonez to the list. Ordonez who foolishly destroyed a one-time promising career.

I don't know if it's still the case, but ESPN reported yesterday it was 60-80 current and former players.

If Joe Carter somehow ends up on here, I will be in a glass case of emotion.
