Re: The epitome of why I love this game

I was pretty much thinking the same thing last night when Sosa hit a two run bomb to tie the game, working the count and getting your pitch makes hitting a home run so much more rewarding than simply lining up the cursor properly.

Nice use of the word Epitome, might be a first on this board.

It isn't as fluid as it used to be. You don't really get the feel of running down a liner like you did in older versions. Everything either floats up where you can get it (with or without quick reactions) or its going to get past you no matter how quickly you react.

I thought that also. So I slowed down the fielders. Big mistake.
Everything you hard to work hard to get. And dont let it roll to the wall, instant triple. So I left it on default and I have a few I chase down that make me dive or I just miss it.

The play in the outfield does seem a little different, but I like it, probably a little more real but not necessarily better.

Man, that post reminds me of my greatest HH expereince ever.

In 2002, I staged a ninth inning comeback of five runs with only two hits - the rest walks.

Capped by a Garciaparra game winning granny, I went ballistic. My girlfriend thought I was watching a real game I went so nuts.

I agree!! Plus I like the fact that it was my man Koskie (he's from the province I live in up here in Canada) that got you the tie run.

On the flip side of that, Thime had a game winner knocked down at the foot of the wall last night by a 15 MPH wind.

16 pitch at bat for which you battle back for a base hit? Now this is good stuff, i think i like this game.
