    Goodness! McCarver is annoying

Buck mentions how well the lineup is hitting for the Sox. Then mentions they've had only one HR, that from Pedroia to open the series. McBoob then "adds" to our knowledge by saying that HR came in the first AB for the Red Sox in the WS.

No joke, dude? We hadn't heard that since 1 second ago!!!!

Then after railing on & on about how idiotic it was for the pitcher to come to bat, Cook comes to the plate. While he is still criticizing the move, the pitcher lays down a bunt & is safe @ first. McCarver: Well he wasn't hitting he was bunting.

God I wish he'd get fired. I'd might sit & watch a whole game on Fox again.

Intelligently filling in conversation gaps in a baseball game is not as easy as it looks from sitting on your couch. Essentially, every smart point made is glossed over by everybody ("it's his job!") and every point you make which doesn't satisfy tens of millions of viewers is dissected to the smallest minutiae.

Yes, sometimes McCarver can be grating, but in all honesty, this guy has farted out more baseball knowledge and experience than anybody on this board has ever had. He was fairly aggrandizing and attention seeking in 2004. In 2007, I honestly do not see that. Maybe it is because he is now forced to wash the balls of my favorite team, but aside from when he wouldn't stop getting on Manny for not running out the HR/single vs. Cleveland, he hasn't really done much to bother.

Quit making excuses for the baboon. He's an overly-loquacious hack in love w/the sound of his voice & the boulder in his skull he seems to think qualifies as a brain.

Dude, McCarver is a moron. He hasn't spit anywhere close to the amount of baseball knowledge I've read on these boards.

Case in point: his keys to tonight.

Red Sox - Close out the series.
            Rockies - Stay Alive.

LOL. You got me there man, no excuses. That is purely ********. I could ask my 92 year old grandmother for a more enlightening keys to the game. And she lives in Peru. And she's never seen a baseball game.

Can't forget McCarver's amazement that more runs were scored in an inning starting with a leadoff homer rather than a leadoff walk.

Fortunately, Sportsnet in Canada is showing the ESPN International feed for some reason. Not that Rick Sutcliffe is much better than McCarver.

For the love of God and all that is holy can Fox get anyone other than those two dips***s to do the World Series next year!.

Maybe if they ask really nicely ESPN would loan them Jon Miller and Joe Morgan. Anything is better than Joe Schmuck and Tim McDumb@$$!!.

Miller is an improvement over Buck, but Morgan is basically on the same level as McCarver.

Agreed but i consider Morgan the lesser of two evils.

Morgan is far less an egomaniac in comparison to Dim McCarjerk.

DrJones that's the MLB International feed not ESPN. (Yes I know being picky)

As for McCarver there are a couple times that he makes some sense and gives good information but that's blotted out like a total eclipse of the sun compared to his *******ery. I can't believe this is the same Tim McCarver who was actually pretty good when he was on CBS. When he worked at CBS it was all about the game and less about the personalities in the booth. I guess we should credit Jack Buck for that as he was paired with McCarver a lot during that time as well as Sean McDonaugh. Both of those guys know that the game is more important then yucking it up.

If only FOX would hire intelligent anaylsts rather then personalities. I'd love to see a guy like Dave Campbell analyzing big games on TV.
