Torre in Dodger Blue?
I heard about this story this morning. Pretty interesting if you ask me. I also wonder if some of the Yankee FAs go to LA too if Torre is indeed the manager there.
According to George King of the New York Post, the Dodgers are negotiating a buyout of manager Grady Little with the hope of replacing him with Joe Torre.

I heard he has a house in Hawaii, and wouldn't mind being closer to it... I could see him taking this job.Comment

Re: Torre in Dodger Blue?
I am surprised to see Mattingly go with him. For someone just a week ago who was gushing Yankee goo about wanting to be in the Yankee organization. I guess he is pissed he did not get the nod.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: Torre in Dodger Blue?
This makes sense for Mattingly.
He knows Torre won't manage for too long. He does well there and he replaces Torre in LA.
If Girardi does well in NY then he stays in NY. Mattingly has no future with them and he doesn't want to be a bench coach forever.
Coach with the guy he likes and hope for the best. Makes sense.
Good luck to Torre and Don in LA."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Actually, Grady Little used Proctor at a greater rate than Torre did in 07.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment
