I tend to agree. But if Miguel was taking care of himself these days, I'd be pushing full force for this kid. There's only so many corner infielders in the game that you can pencil in for 30+ homers a season, and he can do it hitting well above .300. Plus he isn't 25 years old yet.

If the Yankees pass on him, we might still be positioned to make a reasonable run on him ... and Youk's flexibility mitigates some of the risk.

That's the key point. i don't think you can ship out a Buchholz or Ellsbury for a guy who might look like David Wells or CC Sabathia by this time next year. I don't think the Marlins will take anything less though.

It seems like he's a no-brainer for the Angels to take a run at. Then again, we say this every year and they can never seem to find any help for Vlad.

To your point cam, the fact that we have such coveted prospects almost commits us to overpaying if we want to be serious bidders. It'd be to Theo's credit if he could sell them on a package with guys like Coco, Delcarmen, Bowden, Masterson, Moss, etc.

Please....bring him to the Cubs...trade Soriano and Ramirez, half the farm system, I don't care...I am done with Ramirez...

unless Miguel is a juicer...he got huge and fast...where did his neck go?

Bill Stoneman's no longer running the show in Anaheim so it may actually be possible for the Angels to deal a prospect or two to get Vlad some kind of help in the Angels lineup.

Anyone have any pictures to prove Cabrera's "weight gain." I'd be surprised to see any team give up more than a few prospects for a "out-of-shape" third baseman.

When Cabrera made his debut in 2003 he weighed 185 lbs, at the start of the 2007 season he weighed 260 lbs. gaining 75 pounds in 4 years is a significant problem.

In 2 years Cabrera is starting to look like Mo Vaughn, which is not a good option for 3rd. They should just most him to 1st (or DH if he goes to the AL).
