MVP no "zone hitting' where's the innovation?

I was considering getting MVP baseball this year because EA claims to have this innovative pitcher/batter matchup. But instead of having HH's zone hitting it appears to be only timing based like in Triple Play. What's fun about that?

Plus I can't ever imagine striking out using this batting method.

Am I missing something or is there more to MVP's batting?

Because maybe hitting is more about timing instead of playing missle command...

i find the "missle command" statement interesting....

because in that game you position your cursor( a bat) then time the launch (a swing)

don't you do that in baseball.....hitting the opp way position the bat/hands then time your swing

                think about it first
Bummed that you're not on my ignore list yet?.....Don't worry, I'm sure you will be very soon.

I could be a little out of line but you guys are putting your faith in a "first attempt" game. I know they've done Triple Play but didn't they start MVP from the ground up? MVP will probably be along the line of the rebuilt NBA Live 2003. I expect it to be a whole lot more arcadey than a sim. Maybe a lot of you guys put so much faith in it is because it's from EA. I hope that you won't be disappointed. This is probably the only baseball game out this year that will get a rental from me before I buy it!

NO. Hitting to me is about 90 % timing. You just time it and react to where it is. I don't go up to the plate and look for the pitch to be up and out, then all of a sudden i have to take extra time to get myself \in position(the little cursor thing) to swing at a pitch down and in. I just don't find the cursor realistic at all and have hated it from day one.

Sure however I challenge the original poster who mentiones "where's the innovation?"

In the 200mb video guide on Gamespot the producer of EA sat down talked about why he felt that cursor hitting shouldnt be in MVP Baseball. It really made a lot of sense.

There's a TON of innovation in MVP. More than I have ever seen in any baseball game. ou guys should really see this video its amazing..
