well..pro players do all that stuff in a blink of an eye

they see an outside pitch they "go that way" with it

how..they make the adjustments on the fly

so yes,,missle command and batting r the same...just different speeds
Bummed that you're not on my ignore list yet?.....Don't worry, I'm sure you will be very soon.

I'm sick of cursors to tell you the truth.
......and if you want Zone hitting you always have High Heat and ASB.

I also thought there was going to be a cursor...... Hitting is a lot of timing but video games are real baseball......its a lot easier to time a 90mph pitch on a video game than in real life. Without the cursor I highly doubt I will be getting MVP.......but have already changed my mind 3 or 4 times between WSB and MVP

Heres a keen insight into the obvious. Yes in real baseball you do swing at a spot, ie the ball, however you dont have to drag a cursor around to do it. This is an added step you dont have to deal with in real ife. Im not saying MVP will pull it off but its a system I think is better because changin speed accounts for a lot of whiffs in real baseball. Now lets take into consideration the hot zones. If the CPU hits your cold areas then you should miss or hit it weakly. I think the mechanisms EA is implementing in MVP, while they leave a little of the outcome to the CPU, are less artificial than the cursor. People are saying it will be easy to hit but not necessarily depending on the speed variances. You have to decide quickly ball or strike as well as time it. Also, too with the zones, when youre ahead in the count youll want to find something in your hot zone. I think this is a more sensible alternative than the cursor. Like I said, I think its better in theory but it remains to be seen if EA will pull it off.

I agree. The pitch speed are faster in MVP since there is no curser and from the movies the break on the curve balls are awesome. Also the change in speeds is gonna be hard to hit unless you are looking for that pitch. I believe you will get your share of K's in MVP.

also, keep in mind that in video games we tend to want to hack at everythin.

real major league players wait for their pitch. it's a great strategy, but with every great strategy there comes great risk. The great risk is fallin behind in the count and being caught off balanced with a Barry Zito curve or Pedro Martinez changeup in the lower half of the strike zone.

I think if we play smart baseball, we'll find realistic results, great game time, more walks, a nice amount of k's, etc.

If you go out there hackin, you'll def hit a bunch of homeruns. and you can do that in any game, cursor or no cursor...

I never mentioned cursor hitting. I was comparing it to zone hitting like in High Heat. I never mentioned WSB or ASB in the post.

                                Challenge away!

Actually High Heat has great innovation because you time the pitch and then pick the location. In my post I was wondering why just timing a hit is any different than their past Triple Play releases. I was interested in MVP if it had a deeper batting interface. You guys seem to be defending MVP's batting before it's even out,
