The Royals were expected to go that high as well.

But I'm not surprised that Jones would choose LA over KC.

Always had a soft spot for the LA Dodgers, and not because of Joe Torre either, but glad to hear they signed Andruw Jones. Not a bad deal considering the annual $20+ mill. price Boras and Jones were after didn't happen.

      Vintage Eli Manning jersey -$230

Druw was one of my favs. I hope he can get back to making contact. He really looked like he had gotten old last year.

Has anyone ever hurt there stock more in a contract year than Andruw Jones?

Before last year he was a lock to join the 100 million dollar club. Fast forward to this year the best he could manage is a two year deal.

What a difference a year makes.

Agreed, Boras probably had to squeeze everything to get that contract out of the Dodgers. Hopefully he can return to form and make it all back!

Now, how do the Dodgers rid themselves of Juan Pierre's albatross contract? Or do they bite the bullet and pay $10 million a year for a 1-dimensional bench player.

Great, maybe I can go sit in the center field bleachers and throw him menus of the nicest restaurants in the LA metro area.

I wonder how long it'll take for a plane with his fat *** to fly to LA from wherever he is right now.

I hope he does well, except when he's playing Atlanta.

Damn, I was hoping he'd stay out of the NL West. So far he's dwarfed Petco Park in a small amount of games... I don't want to see what he can do facing us 8-9 times here at Petco Park.

I think a change of scenery can do Andruw some good. I also believe that with Torre managing he'll be held more into account then he has in Atlanta. I'm not saying Cox didn't make his players accountable but by this stage in their relationship Cox was more like an elderly father type figure rather then an authority one.

                        We'll see how he does.

I hope Andruw has 2 great years in LA. I'll certainly be rooting for them to take the West.

As for Pierre, he's not even good with the glove, so make the guy a pinch runner. If he swipes 40, it's only a quarter mil per bag ...

I HATE that he went to the Dodgers. The Dodgers have always given the Braves trouble no matter how good / bad their team (and vice versa for ours) was. If he gets anywhere near his old form the Dodgers will be a true pain in the *** for the Braves.
