when did I say I had problems with fielding?

I actually found fielding in Roger Clemens Baseball (SNES) and Super Bases Loaded (SNES) easy despite the behind the pitcher view. I have never had trouble with fielding in video games.

I think you are still missin the point. WE CAN STILL FIELD IN MVP. I don't mind the CPU makin a dive if it's part of an ANIMATION TO CATCH THE BALL.

i dont think that just running to the ball is an adequate description of "feilding", i think this is the problem were having. Of course you can still move the guy, but thats a small portion of what should be required

and I agree. I understand people want more than just manually controllin the fielder around the stadium.

but my point is that at least we have that. this is nothin like WSB for Dreamcast.

The intention is not to take away our fielding control, but to make the game much more realistic and pleasing to the eyes visually while allowing the user to make plays they might have been unable to perform with manual control.

yes, thats true
i think that MVP is moving in the right direction. I really look forward to the new batting and throwing controls, very inovative. hopefully next year or sometime soon, they will have beautiful animations plus an option for user control.
perhaps my dislike comes from that i find it hard to see MVP as a "first effort" because of TP, but maybe i should forget that.

your really fooling yourself if you think auto diving and jump is a good thing i would be a gamebreaker for me if i really called about that game witch i dont....oh well WSB just just 7 more days....

personal taste. you are entitled to your opinion. Enjoy WSB...i'm sure it'll be a good game too. Lastyear's was a strong effort.

Personally, I would rather have the satisfaction of making the play myself than having the computer do it for me.

The CPU does NOT make the play for you. It simple selects the right dive/jump annimation in regards to the position you put your fielder in. Yes it activates the animation on it's own but it's up to you to get the player in the most approprite position etc...

The CPU does NOT make the play for you. It simple selects the right dive/jump annimation in regards to the position you put your fielder in. Yes it activates the animation on it's own but it's up to you to get the player in the most approprite position etc...
